Relationships
Your Mother
She is Your Character's mother. She works as a pediatric surgeon at Edenbrook Hospital and has gotten you a volunteer job at said hospital after school. If you spend time with Dakota at the dog park, you tell Dakota that your mom wants you to go to a good college, although medical school is "optional". Thus, even if you don't know what your life ambitions are yet, you are focused on getting good grades to get into a good college.
Amy
Amy is your neighbor and best friend. When you moved to Willow Creek the past summer, she helped you find your bearings as well as study for the SATs[1]. In the beginning, she warns you about dating Dakota as the latter has never had an official girlfriend and not for lack of volunteers. She has seen many girls get their hearts broken because of Dakota and she doesn't want that to happen to you. Later, you find out from Dakota that Amy was his/her first kiss and they crushed on each other during their freshman year. Whatever your feelings are towards that, you two remain friends.
Dakota Winchester
You meet Dakota Winchester on your first day of your senior year at Willow Creek High. He/she has left you an email that you receive during graduation although Dakota is absent from the classmates surrounding you. The email causes you to think back about what happened during your senior year, how you two met, and your relationship with him/her.
Heather
Heather is your friend from school. Although you are not close to her, you can encourage her relationship with Amy and you can become better friends with her if you help her and Jayden find a gift for Dakota at the hospital.
Jayden
Jayden is your friend from school. Although you are not close to him, you can tease him about his crush on Emily and become better friends with him if you help him and Heather find a gift for Dakota at the hospital.
Mateo
You meet Mateo through your volunteer work at Edenbrook Hospital and through Dakota, his best friend.
Lennox
You meet Lennox through Dakota and Mateo. At first, she seems more reserved and different than Mateo. As she explains, she was afraid you would bail out on Dakota when the goings got tough.

- The book reuses the faces from Ride or Die: A Bad Boy Romance.
- If the default surname is kept, she and her mother will share the same surname as Arthur Woods from the Desire & Decorum series and Tyler Woods from Murder at Homecoming.
- Your father died of cancer. He was diagnosed when you were two years old.
- Your age is revealed in Chapter 6.
- Your top two university picks are Massachusetts State and Grantmore University in California. Grantmore University is the university attended by the main character, Mark Collins, and Amy from the #LoveHacks series.
- Since your only love interest dies at the end of the book, you are the only protagonist in the entire Choices franchise who will always be single by the end, regardless of player choice.
