Personality

Relationships

Nick Gallant

Nick was your best friend since you were five years old. He cared for you deeply, would often talk about you to his other friends, and supported your writing career through bulk-buys of your books and gifting copies to his influential visitors. You made sure to maintain contact through monthly video calls, but his murder mystery weekend was the first time you'd seen each other in person for almost two years. His death devastated you, but you very quickly became certain it wasn't the suicide it seemed to be and immediately resolved to uncover his killer's identity.

Trivia

  • Body Type 1 reuses one face each from The Elementalists, Unbridled: An Untameable Story, and Guarded. Body Type 2 reuses one face from Unbridled: An Untameable Story, as well as one modified face each from Blades of Light and Shadow and America's Most Eligible.
  • If the default first name is kept, he/she/they will share the same name as Finn McDonough from Witness: A Bodyguard Romance and the default first name as Fashion Designer from Best Served Haute.
  • If the default surname is kept, he/she/they will share the same surname as Julia Mason from High School Story, Book 3.
  • If you read Medhani's notes in Chapter 11, she mentions that she didn't have a chance to research your medical history. You can then choose to reveal that you have anxiety, ADHD, or no diagnoses worth noting.
    • If you choose ADHD, you add that you don't consider it to be something wrong with you, characterizing it instead as "just part of how my brain works."
    • You learn in the same scene that Farah is 28 years old. A premium scene in Chapter 10 revealed that you and Farah share the same '90s birth year, which puts your age somewhere between 27 and 29.
  • If you take Farah's premium scene in Chapter 19, she gets the two of you into an exclusive party by passing you off as a foreign ambassador whose home country depends on which language you know. If you say you know some Spanish, Farah claims you're an Argentinian ambassador named Ale. If you say that you know either Elvish or Klingon, Farah has you pretend to be the Finnish ambassador and gives you the alias Liekki. In all cases, you speak a few lines of the chosen language to a security guard, who understands the Spanish and has no idea about the others.
    • If you choose Spanish, you greet the security guard by complimenting the party, and then thank him for allowing you and Farah into the VIP area.
    • If you choose Elvish, Farah references the word "Mellon," or "friend," which was used as a code word to open the door to the Mines of Moria in The Fellowship of the Ring.
      • You greet the security guard by saying "Êl síla erin lû e-govaned vîn," which means "A star shines on the hour of our meeting." After he allows you and Farah to pass, you say "Annon allen!" which means "I give thanks to you."
    • If you choose Klingon, Farah reveals her own knowledge of the language by saying "Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam!" This means "Today is a good day to die," which is likely the most well-known Klingon phrase.
      • You greet the security guard by saying "bortaS bIr jablu'DI' reH QaQqu' nay'," which means "Revenge is a dish best served cold." After he allows you through, you tell him "choquvmoH," which means "You honor me."
    • The same scene later reveals that the only two dances you know are the Charleston and the dance from Pulp Fiction, which you learned for a drama department talent show in college.
  • Your published works are as follows:
    • Murder by Mayhem was your first novel.
    • Murder by Motive involved a killer who typed a fake suicide note.
    • Murder by Major was about a university dean who poisoned his students.
    • Murder by Museum required you to research the origins of the weighted police club known as a blackjack.
    • Murder by Marigold was about a serial killer who left marigolds as a calling card.
    • Murder by Misdirect featured a voice-activated secret safe.
    • Murder by Midnight is your most recent release. The killer in this book kept their hideout entrance masked by a wooden panel.
    • Murder by Malice is the book you write following the conclusion of your investigation. One character is based on Nick, and you dedicate the book to both him and Medhani.
