Appearance

Your character's appearance is customizable to player's preference. While Poppy is noted to be five feet two inches tall (157.48 cm), you are noted to be at least half a foot (15.24 cm) taller than her.

Personality

"Have you considered that the difference in your upbringing may be why you judged this person so harshly to begin with?"
—Professor Kingsley to MC

Generally, your character is bold and assertive, unwilling to back down from a fight. You are a small-town girl ready to make your mark in the big city. While you may be disheartened at first at being judged by others, you also appear to judge people upon first impression.

In the "good girl" route, you are driven by a sense of justice and fighting for the underdog. You begin to question decisions that may hurt others even though they have insulted you in the past and may continue to hurt you in the future.

In the "bad girl" route, you are driven by a longing for "power". You're not afraid to play dirty and not above underhanded tactics that your enemies use.

According to Zoey, since you have Gemini rising, you are two-faced. However, because you're a Virgo, you're not patently evil. You just know how to put on a different face in different situations. You're also constant.

Background

You hail from a Midwestern state, where your family owns a farm and you attended Farmsville State university. When your aunt dies, your family inherits an enormous amount of money and you decide to transfer to the Ivy League university, Belvoire University, to start your junior year and complete your degree. You are labeled as "New Money" by your peers and soon learn that status and reputation are what can make or break you there.

Relationships

Chloe St. James

On your first day of school, you hear Chloe St. James shrieking at another student. When you get closer to figure out why, she immediately insults you and you defend yourself. At the end of Chapter 1, she spills her coffee over your laptop computer and by the end of Chapter 2, she has one of her minions accuse you of cheating at your prior school.

In Chapter 6, Poppy is livid that Chloe stole her top spot although the details as to how that was accomplished remain to be seen. Poppy recruits you to undermine Chloe and you agree on a tentative truce. However, when Poppy tells you about her plans to publicly destroy Chloe, your previous choices (whether you choose to be the Good Girl or the Bad Girl) affect your actions. If you are a Good Girl, you warn Chloe ahead of time so she is not as embarrassed as Poppy wanted her to be. If you are a Bad Girl, you do not warn her. The club scene affects her reputation, and by the end, Chloe has dropped back down to #2 and Poppy moves ahead to #1. You have the chance to make out with her in Chapter 11; if you do, you find out she is a good kisser.

In Chapter 14, you have the chance to recruit Chloe into your posse. If you do, Chloe helps you secretly for the rest of the school year. She also introduces you to Poppy's parents at the end of the year gala. If you don't, you two work on your agendas separately.

In Book 2, regardless of who reaches Rank 1 at the end of Book 1 and who wins the Person to Watch Award, Chloe thinks of you as the "queen" on campus and looks to you for your advice when X threatens the status quo. Others look to you as their queen as well because you are the one who pushed Poppy off her throne.

Poppy Min-Sinclair

When you defend yourself against Chloe, Poppy Min-Sinclair speaks up and tries to put you in your place. You immediately dislike her for her haughty attitude. After you realize Poppy is the Queen of Belvoire University, you are determined to take her down.

In Chapter 6, you are assigned to be her partner in your Mass Communications class. She comes up with the project idea without your input, but before you two can discuss it, she hurries off. She texts you directions to meet her later, introducing you to the Alphas and Zetas hidden getaway and surprising you with the offer of a truce. At the animal shelter, you two film a commercial as your class project and you have the premium opportunity to adopt a puppy and steal her spotlight. Whether you do or not, she recruits you to help her knock Chloe from the top rank.

In Chapter 7, you meet with Poppy and her new boyfriend at Club Malibu. She wants you to feed her boyfriend lines through an earpiece and microphone to charm Chloe and set her up for ridicule. As stated above, you may decide to warn Chloe ahead of time so her shame isn't as enormous but the act of embarrassment is enough to knock her back to rank 2 or you may choose to stay silent which results in the opposite effect concerning the shock value of the embarrassment.

Afterwards, Poppy invites you for a "girl's night" where if you choose to, you two can become intimate. Whether you decide to or not, she texts you later and calls off the truce. She also posts for the public to view a video of you hog-calling on your parents' farm.

In Chapter 11, you attend the Zeta party organized by her and have the chance to make out with her during the 'Suck n' Blow' game.

In Book 2, Chapter 6, you can again become intimate in a premium scene.

Zoey Wade

Zoey Wade rescues you when you have your first argument with Poppy. She is your roommate and also one of your love interests. Since she hates Poppy, she joins your posse to take her down.

In Chapter 11, you find out about the "human sacrifices" project by Poppy, but don't know that Zoey is supposed to be the sacrifice. When you do find out, it's too late and she is being humiliated by Poppy. Later, she gets mad at you as you knew Poppy's plan but didn't tell her. She further expresses she should have seen it coming as you got closer to Poppy's inner circle. If you tell her that it isn't your plan to get revenge on Poppy, she will tell you you are Poppy and leave the party without you. No matter which path you pursue (bad or good girl), she will leave your posse.

Ian/Ina Kingsley

During your first encounter, he/she offers you a drink. You have the chance to kiss him/her in Chapter 1 and to later hook up with him/her in a premium scene. Later, you find out that he/she is the professor of your 'Behavioral Science in Practice' class. After class ends, he/she will tell you to forget the things happened in the bar as he/she wants to stay professional for his/her occupation.

In Chapter 3, in order for you to squash the rumors that you're a cheater, you become Professor Kingsley's TA (teaching assistant). Kingsley tells you that he/she wants zero drama in his/her classroom and office. He/she expects the utmost professionalism from you and warns you to be careful with The T as it has a tendency to ruin reputations at the school.

Carter Jackson

Your first encounter with him is in his fraternity party in Chapter 2. When you got accused of cheating in your previous college, he stands up for you regardless you jump into the jello pool or not. In Chapter 4, you ask for his help for your performance which he agrees to. You have the chance to kiss him when the kiss cam lands on you.

In Chapter 11, if the professor you choose is male, he will be the one that invites you to participate in the "Suck n' Blow" game. You have the chance to get intimate with him either with or without Veronica. Later, when you sneak into Poppy's room, he finds you but keeps your secret as he also wants to get revenge at Poppy. If you recruit him, he will express his "friends" will ditch him if he is not the star player or he isn't dating the popular girl in the school.

In Book 2, Chapter 7, he can fake propose you for helping you ace one of your Apoidea challenge.

Veronica Lombardi

Your first encounter with her is during Carter's fraternity party in Chapter 2. You guys don't have any direct conversation until Chapter 5 when you go to the Zeta house to find Taylor. She will either be impressed or insult you depending on your outfit. In Chapter 8, you have the chance to flirt with her and recruit her into your posse. If you decide to recruit her, you blackmail her by filming as she vents out her frustrations towards the make-up line Read My Lips and a cardboard cut-out of Poppy.

If you wear the premium outfit when you attend the Zeta party in Chapter 11, she will acknowledge your outfit is fire. If the professor you choose is female, she will be the one that invites you to participate in the "Suck n' Blow" game. You have the chance to get intimate with her either with or without Carter. Later, she helps you sneak into Poppy's room if you have recruited her before.

Trivia

  • A version of your character is shown on the cover of Queen B, Book 1 and Queen B, Book 2.
  • The book reuses the female faces from It Lives Beneath.
  • The name of your hometown can be chosen by the player. The name of that town becomes the derogatory nickname used for you throughout the series.
    • In Chapter 1, it is noted that you speak with a Midwestern accent, narrowing your home state to one of the Midwest States.
    • In Chapter 2, you mention rolling plains to Michael at the Alphas party. The rolling plains (that do not belong to Texas) belong to Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. This further narrows your home state to Missouri or Kansas.
  • If you choose to say you've never cheated in your life, you tell Zoey in Chapter 3 that you've been a straight-A student your entire school career.
  • If you make a real Cinder account in Chapter 7 instead of using an alias, your age is revealed to be 21.
  • In Book 2, Chapter 1, regardless of your rank at the end of Book 1 (which ranges from 1st place to 12th depending on your choices), you move to 1st place before Dean Steinhelm removes the ranking system. This is due to your actions of dethroning Poppy and Chloe's inability to lead. In Book 2, your rank will either be 1st or 2nd place during your competition against X.
  • In Book 2, Chapter 9, if you spend time with Zoey, it is mentioned that you are a Virgo. This means your birthday falls between approximately August 23 to about September 22.
