- The book reuses the female faces from America's Most Eligible and the male faces from Big Sky Country.
- The default name Charlie is of English origin, which means "free person". It is a short version of the names Charles and Charlotte.
- If the default name is kept, you will share the same name as Charlie Carmichael from Wishful Thinking.
- You confirm in Chapter 1 that you're in your twenties.
- You once did a summer internship with National Geographic.
- You seem to be a fan of The Crown & the Flame which is depicted as a TV show as well as a book series in several Choices books. This is shown when you recognize Sumire quoting from it during a premium scene of Chapter 15.
