Although her/his/their default name is "Parker Reese", the player can choose to name her/him/them as they wish.
Appearance
The appearance of your character is up to the player.
Personality
On the surface, you come across as friendly and witty, often getting along with others rather easily. At first, you were self-conscious and rather shy, but after you're introduced to the world of vampires, you develop a sense of curiosity and grow to be more self-assured. Despite being human, you are adventurous and tend to plunge headfirst into danger. You care deeply for your loved ones, especially your mother, and will do anything to protect her and help those in need. You also show a strong sense of justice, wanting to solve the murders happening around Crimson Beech.
In Book 2, you gradually adapt to your new life as a vampire. Depending on player choice, you either struggle to get your bloodlust under control, or you maintain a strong enough willpower to suppress most of your new vampiric urges.
Background
You and your mother move to Crimson Beech for your senior year. On your first day of school, you meet Gabe who takes an immediate liking towards you.

Relationships
Terri
You and your mother are very close, and Terri encourages you to have fun during your senior year. You in return make her promise you to stay focused on her job, and not snoop around crime scenes. When you find out about the existence of vampires, they order you to keep her away from their trail, otherwise, they'll kill you both. In Chapter 6 when you return late from the Autumn Festival, she is angry at you for staying out so late.
It all comes to a head when you get into an argument with her. Your mother raises concerns about your behaviour and your affiliation with Gabe and Cas, and after talking back to her, she grounds you. Once Terri discovers that you sneaked out with Cas, she finds you and confronts you about your presence at the crime scene. This leads to the both of you being taken by the covens to be killed. However, before Astoria and Lewyn kill you both, they are interrupted by Nicole who comes with the news that the Venandi party has been killed.
After escaping the Nexus, the two of you talk, and if you have been honest with her throughout the story, she believes you. You then task Seth with keeping her safe. The two of you reunite when you return to Crimson Beech, and when you discover that your house has been ransacked, you can help her tidy up. After you decide to sacrifice yourself to stop the Creator, she calls and asks where you are, and you can tell her the truth or a lie. Regardless, once the Creator is defeated, she believes that you had passed out from smoke inhalation: her memories have been altered as part of a ritual performed by Lewyn and Astoria.
In Book 2, you refuse to abandon her after Lewyn and Astoria tell you to stay away from humans for their own safety. They allow you to stay with her, though you constantly smell her blood and are at risk of giving into your new vampire instincts. If you have high willpower, you are able to control yourself.
In Chapter 8, you accidentally reveal yourself to her after she cuts herself with a knife.
In Chapter 11, you confront your mother about her deal with Lennox, and she tells you that she's happy you're okay. When you question her motives, she states that Lennox told her that he'd cure you of your vampirism if she gave up all the names of the vampires of Crimson Beech. When you scold her about it, she boldly states, "I would rather make the world burn, if it means to keep you safe." Terri confirms that it's not you she's scared of, but rather the vampires that turned you into one of them.
Gabe Adalhard
You meet Gabe during the first day of school. After you find out that Cas is a vampire, Gabe tells you more about them, shares his/her own story, and helps you protect yourself against them. The two of you spend a lot of time together, and during the arcade date, Libby reveals that Gabe is descended from vampire hunters. This prompts Gabe to tell you more about his/her origins and her family. You also go together to the Autumn Festival.
When vampires attack you in the gym, Gabe is exposed as a vampire him/herself, and turns feral at the smell of your blood because he/she hasn't drank blood in a month. The attackers intend for Gabe to kill you, but Cas shows up and stops him/her. After the situation is settled, Gabe apologizes for hiding his/her true nature and for spying on you for Lewyn. You can then have Gabe escort you back home, and share your first kiss. He/She introduces you to his/her vampire friends the following day.
Gabe and Cas also help you stop your mother from finding out the truth by breaking into her office and editing the autopsy report. Afterwards, the three of you start talking about the vampire-turning process, and Gabe shares his/her traumatic experience and how he/she was forced to turn someone. Due to your interest, Gabe and Cas offer to take you to the turning chamber and tell you more. While being grounded, Gabe visits you, and you can do chores with him/her.
Upon discovering the bodies of the Venandis in the woods, you, Gabe, and Cas vow to work together and save the town. While being outside of the lay lines, you have several chances to get closer to Gabe, and once you return to Crimson Beech and the battle with the Creator and his minions begins, you can express your feelings to him/her. You then sacrifice yourself to kill the Creator, and because Gabe and Cas don't want to lose you, they decide to turn you. If you told Gabe that you love him/her before your death, he/she tells you she feels the same way.
In Book 2, Gabe becomes your Clement mentor and you can choose to have your first time with Gabe in Book 2, Chapter 7. When you accidentally reveal yourself to both Lennox and your mother in the following chapter and are therefore temporarily banished from Crimson Beech in Book 2, Chapter 9, Gabe takes responsibility as your mentor and joins you, risking getting sun poisoning as a result.
Cas Harlow
You meet Cas while he/she is having a fight with another student. He/she shows up at the party in the woods again later, and you can play musical chairs with him/her, Gabe, and his/her friends. Shortly after, you discover that he/she's a vampire after seeing him/her chasing a girl in the woods, and because of that, you are taken to the Nexus to testify as a witness to his/her trial. Regardless of your testimony, Cas is found guilty. Despite the rough introduction between the two of you, you get closer, become friends, and hang out regularly.
Cas also defends you against members of his/her own coven, and saves you during the attack at the gym by stopping Gabe from feasting on you. After your trial at the Nexus concludes, you can have Cas escort you home, visit the ice-cream shop, and share your first kiss. In the following chapter, Cas introduces you to Seth, and when you realize that it's Seth he/she was covering for at the night you first met, Cas makes you promise you won't tell anyone about it.
When your mother starts getting closer to the truth about the murders, you, Gabe and Cas decide to partner up and stop her by breaking into her office and editing the autopsy report. Later, when the conversation shifts towards how humans are turned into vampires, Cas sees your excitement, and you can visit with him/her and Gabe the turning chamber. There, you learn more about the process, and can share an intimate moment with Cas. After you are grounded by your mother, Cas helps you sneak away to a wrestling ring, where you can fight a couple of vampires from another coven.
Upon discovering the bodies of the Venandis in the woods, you, Gabe, and Cas vow to work together and save the town. While being outside of the lay lines, you have several chances to get closer to Cas, and once you return to Crimson Beech and the battle with the Creator and his minions begins, you can express your feelings to him/her. You then sacrifice yourself to kill the Creator, and because Gabe and Cas don't want to lose you, they decide to turn you. If you told Cas that you love him/her before your death, he/she tells you she feels the same way.
In Book 2, Cas becomes your Venandi mentor. He/she begins to withdraw from you shortly afterwards, leaving you confused about this unusual behavior. When you confront him/her about it in Chapter 7, you have the premium option to the listen to the story of Cas's human past and the bullying which led to him/her meeting vampires and asking to become one of them. In Chapter 8, Cas takes you to the house where he/she lived as a human and admits to being upset at the vulnerability of caring about you more than he/she wanted to. This is when you can have your first time with Cas. After you accidentally reveal yourself to Lennox and your mother in Book 2, Chapter 8, you are temporarily banished from Crimson Beech. Cas takes responsibility as your mentor and joins you, risking getting sun poisoning. Out in the woods, you and Gabe confront Cas about the wound caused by the paper cut which is when Cas finally tells you the full story about why she/he withdrew from you, not wanting to hurt you with his/her new and unfamiliar powers.
Libby
You meet her for the first time during the party at the woods in Chapter 1. If you have been flirting with Gabe, Libby acknowledges it and teases you both. In Chapter 7, she offers to help on crowd control when the fight breaks out. Later, she says that she's worried about you because she and the others were waiting for you at lunch, and because you vanished at the Autumn Festival. When you tell her that you have been hanging out with Cas, Libby says that he/she is bad news because he/she and his/her friends always start fights.
In Book 2, you begin to distance yourself from Libby and your other human friends for their own safety. You have the option to lie about not having time for them due to lingering health concerns from the events of the previous book, or to harshly reject their friendship outright. Either way, your subsequent interactions with Libby are tense and strained.
Seth
You see him for the first time when he accompanies Cas to the party in Chapter 1, but he doesn't say anything. In Chapter 7, Cas introduces you to him and tells you that he's the youngest Venandi vampire and his/her protege. If asked, he tells you that he doesn't learn much because Cas goes on and on about how things used to be when he/she was turned. Later, when the Clements and the Venandis start a fight in the woods, you have the chance to ask for his help in stopping them. If you do, Val and Scott blame him for staying on the sidelines and for not doing anything to help his clan. After you, Gabe, and your mother escape from the Nexus in Chapter 10, you stumble upon Seth who's looking for Cas. You then decide to go look for Cas with Gabe, while Seth decides to help by taking your mother home.
Lewyn Junius
You meet Lewyn for the first time in Chapter 2, after you are taken to testify as a witness in regards to what happened with Cas and the human he/she killed in the woods. If you decide to talk more to Clyde, he tells you how you can sway Lewyn to your side. Before you leave the Nexus, he brings up your mother and that you should stop her from investigating the murders further. Unlike Astoria who wants to kill you on the spot, Lewyn is more sensible and gives you a chance to prove yourself first. You are officially introduced to him again through your mother, who tells you that he is her supervisor. When you are attacked by some Venandi vampires during the Autumn Festival and taken to the Nexus for a trial, his demeanour seems to have changed. Lewyn tells you once again to control your mother, otherwise he and Astoria will kill you, proving that in the end, he and Astoria are not that different. In Chapter 9, when you and your mother are taken to the Nexus, Lewyn and Astoria decide to kill you once and for all. However, he is interrupted by Nicole and you are both saved. In Chapter 14, you witness how he is ready to sacrifice unsuspecting humans as well as vampires of his own coven by using them as bait in the fight against the Creator. However, the memories of most inhabitants of Crimson Beech are wiped and altered by Lewyn and Astoria.
In Book 2, after your unauthorized turning by Gabe and Cas who are unsure who bit you last, you're put in both covens and are told that the decision of which coven you will end up in will be made for you.
Powers and Abilities
After becoming a vampire in the final chapter of Book 1, you gain regular vampire abilities.
- Enhanced Strength: Vampires are stronger than humans. You can demonstrate this by either sending a boulder flying or by shattering it with your bare hands in Book 2, Chapter 1.
- Enhanced Agility: In Book 2, Chapter 5, it is mentioned that you also have supernatural agility as a vampire. Agility includes flexibility, balance, bodily coordination, and endurance.[1]
- Enhanced Speed and Reflexes: Vampires travel faster than humans and have to walk intentionally slower to appear human as mentioned during your training in Book 2.
- Ley Lines: Ley lines are underground sources of energy that vampires can utilize. They give vampires the ability to be resilient to sunlight.
- Immortality: In Book 1, Chapter 16, Cas states that since the first meeting with you, he/she technically hasn't aged a second, confirming that vampires don't age.
- Healing Factor: Vampires heal faster than humans, especially if they drink blood.
- Heightened Senses/Night Vision: Vampire senses are enhanced which includes augmented sight, hearing, smell, and Night Vision. Vampires can track scents over miles away and distinguish between vampires and humans by their smell over a similar distance. In a premium scene of Book 2, Chapter 2, Cas mentions that vampires can pinpoint a beating heart within approximately twenty feet.
- Conversion: Vampires are able to turn a human into one of their own by injecting venom.
Additionally, you are able to gain further abilities directly from the ley line:
- Guidance: You acquire the ability to be guided by the ley line in Book 2, Chapter 1. Sometimes it pulls you to places where you need to go that you didn't know before. Sometimes you can ask the ley line to find a place, such as when you search for shelter in Chapter 9.
- Projection: In Book 2, Chapter 2, you can choose to gain the ability to create a projection of yourself that you can control so realistically that your friends don't notice a difference between you and your projection.
- Moon Shroud: In Book 2, Chapter 4, you can choose to gain the ability to reach out for the energy of the moon to protect you from the sunlight.
- Sense Intentions: In Book 2, Chapter 5, you can gain this precognitive ability. If accepted, you have short out of body visions if someone intends to attack you, such as when you sense that Elder Kaufman is about to hit you to test your reflexes. Starting in Chapter 7, you can choose to actively use it to sense what another person is about to do, even if not related to an attack.
- Calming: In Book 2, Chapter 8, you can gain this ability during an outing with Cas, and you can use it to calm yourself and Cas by touching him/her.
- Heat Signature: In Book 2, Chapter 9, you can gain the ability to see heat signatures. Your whole perception of colors changes if you use it. You can track the vampire hunters by searching for the heat signatures their hands left on trees even though they have been gone long enough for Cas to no longer being able to track their scents.
- Silver Antibodies: In Book 2, Chapter 11, you can gain this ability and become almost immune to silver.
- Shadow Puppeteer: In Book 2, Chapter 14, you can gain the ability to manipulate your shadow into a living being that can act independently.
Weaknesses
- Aversion to Silver: Silver can burn vampires. Several vampire-hunting talismans use silver as a ward against vampires, and specifically prepared silver can paralyze them. In Book 2, Chapter 11, you can obtain the Silver Antibodies Ability, that weakens the effect silver has on you.
- Decapitation: Dismembering or manually removing the head of a vampire will result in instant and permanent death.
- Sunlight: Vampires outside of a ley line find sunlight to be debilitating and are greatly weakened under its gaze, requiring to take any kind of shelter from direct sunlight. Exposure to sunlight gives a vampire sun poisoning which leads to death after about an hour. The longer a vampire is exposed to it, the longer they need to recover. You experience some of the symptoms yourself in Book 2, Chapter 4. In the same chapter, you can choose to gain the Moon Shroud ability which also nullifies the weakness.
- Ley Lines: While the ley lines nullify the weaknesses vampires have to the sun, this is dependent upon contact with the ley line and if the vampire leaves the protected area, for example Crimson Beech, they will swiftly lose this power. This is demonstrated in Book 2, Chapter 4, for example, when Lewyn makes you step out across the invisible barrier as a demonstration.
- Vampire Blood: Vampire blood is poisonous to other vampires. Even a drop or two is enough to make a vampire ill.
- Bloodlust: When vampires do not regularly feed, they are in danger of turning "feral", unable to reason with or talk to until the thirst for blood is quenched.

Trivia
- A Body Type 1 version of your character is shown on the cover of Immortal Desires, Book 1 and Immortal Desires, Book 2.
- If the default name is kept, he/she/they will share the same name as Parker Shaw from It Lives Beneath, and Parker from LoveHacks, Book 2.
- If the default surname is kept, he/she/they will share the same surname as Winston Reese from Crimes of Passion, Book 1.
- The book reuses three male faces from The Elementalists and three female faces from It Lives Beneath.
- A premium Book 1, Chapter 13 scene can reveal that you used to play baseball and that you at least once hit a homerun in a game. When Cas is surprised to learn that you were a jock, you mention that you quit after said game. You took it as a sign that you had to chase the ice cream man for three blocks to get the ice cream promised to you by your mother as a reward for your homerun. You and your mother then got an ice cream cone charm for the bracelet that you bought for your mother when you were in middle school.
- After defeating the Creator and ending up nearly dead in Book 1, Chapter 15, you find out in Book 1, Chapter 16 that you were turned into a vampire, presumably to save your life.
- In a premium Book 2, Chapter 2 scene, you tell Gabe that you fell off a boat when you were a kid and that you have been wary of anything nautical since then.
- When Chapter 8 of Book 2 released on April 17, 2024, an outfit called 'Same Me' became available. This outfit contained a bug which paired all Body Type 2 heads with the same light-skinned body model whenever that outfit was worn. The bug was corrected on April 24 by changing which model was used for every face, even those which were not apparently impacted. The correction resulted in a slight shift in the way the outfit sits on the body and the removal of the finger rings which once accessorized it.
