Your Character in Crimes of Passion is the main protagonist of the Crimes of Passion series.
Although her/his/their default name is "Cameron", the player can choose to name her/him/them as they wish.
Appearance
The appearance of your character is up to the player. You generally carry a taser at your hip.
Personality
Although most traits are determined by the player, generally you are a law-abiding do-gooder interested in getting justice for victims of crimes. You state that you are a "noisy drunk" when you become inebriated. You tend to carry a stern no-nonsense air about you, and are generally perceptive about people. Tommy says you inherited your sense of humor and wit from your father.
Background
You've lived in New York your whole life. Both your father and your uncle were police officers. Your father was killed in the line of duty responding to a crime at a baseball stadium fifteen years ago. When you grew older, you decided to follow in his footsteps.
You were considered to be the top of your class, and were the youngest to make Homicide division. However, there was so much corruption within the force. You hoped to purge it by bringing it to Internal Affairs, but they were in on it, and forced you to take the fall. You resigned before you could be fired.
Currently, you live in an apartment above your uncle's bar, The Drunk Tank.
You suffer from recurring nightmares and panic attacks about your father's death. During the course of the Dormer investigation, the nightmares continue and include people such as Bethany Delgado. When you experience panic attacks, your mouth dries and your breaths become shallow, you hear the sounds of the stadium organ, and you are brought back outside Box Thirty-Two.

Relationships
Uncle Tommy
On the anniversary of your father's death, you and your uncle Tommy have a tradition of taking a shot of Horse Creek and visiting your father's gravesite. At the end of Chapter 6, he calls to tell you that his bar had been robbed and the thief stole your father's badge and gun.
Captain Maria Thompson
Maria Thompson was your former captain when you were on the force. Your opinion of her is quite low, and she believes the false accusations levelled against you, considering you a disgrace.
Trystan Thorne
Trystan Thorne is your agency's client and your potential love interest. You believe that Trystan's playful flirty image is just a facade and that there is something different and darker underneath.
Olivia Nevrakis
In Chapter 4, you meet Olivia Nevrakis when you pose as her second cousin. If you choose to go on a walk with her, you gain her as an ally. She tells you that the next time you choose a cover story, you should try to impersonate someone from Fydelia instead of her duchy. Although most hand offs don't require a duchess, Olivia tells you that meeting potential allies, such as Marguerite and Trystan, require her presence.
If you decide to walk with her, you voice some wonder about royalty and nobility popping out of the woodwork. In this, she tells you that you remind her of Your Character (The Royal Romance) but assures you that royalty and nobility have always been around. She complains about the useless numerous rooms in American mansions as well as the rest of Cordonia minus Lythikos. She asks you about your thoughts on Mayor Brigham. She tells you that she knew Trystan's fiancee, Juliana, because they went to finishing school together. While they may have had their differences, she doesn't believe Juliana deserved her fate and she doesn't believe Trystan murdered her. She thinks Drakovia railroaded Trystan and finds it infuriating that the country has managed to erase Juliana's existence from history.
In her experience with Drakovians, she tells you that looks can be very deceiving. From what she could see, Trystan and Juliana seemed happy but her disappearance happened during a tumultuous time. Olivia warns you to be careful when investigating the affairs of the partygoers as well as Trystan and Drakovia, because not everyone will be as nice as her.
