• On December 19, 2019, users on several social media began to report that a then-new feature VIP was advertising two new books, this one and Hot Couture.
• On March 6, 2020, PB revealed in the Choices Insiders e-mail that this book will premiere later this Spring.
• In Pixelberry's April 2020 newsletter, they announced that this book was originally going to be released this month, but got pushed back due to schedule changes.
• On January 8, 2021, PB revealed the book will release to all players this month in the Choices Insiders e-mail.
• On January 22, 2021, PB released a blogpost confirming the book will premiere at the end of this month.
  • They also mentioned that they updated some of the main character hairstyles.
• On January 25, 2021, PB released a teaser video and announced that the book will be available for all players later this week.
• On January 26, 2021, PB released a sneak peek featuring all versions of Dakota.

• In the Choices Insiders of February 2021, PB revealed a sketch of the cover and a word from one of their artists, Sara: "For this cover, we wanted the focus to be on the connection between Sage (main character) and Dakota. We intended for the background to be simple and pretty, with clouds that draw your attention back to the characters. For the final cover, the characters were moved down with a giant sky above them, making the scene more uplifting and heightening the sense of possibilities."

Trivia

• This book was released simultaneously on early-access with Hot Couture, with 3 chapters at launch.
• In Chapter 1, it is mentioned that Edenbrook Hospital is 45 minutes away from Willow Creek by bus, and half the time by car. That makes Willow Creek one of Boston's neighborhoods.
• This book advises player discretion because the story will cover serious issues including illness and death.
• In Chapter 16, Your Character and her friends graduate high school as the Class of 2020. This sets the book's timeline as September 2019 through May or June 2020.
• This book appears as a movie in a premium scene in Chapter 95 of My Two First Loves.
