Werewolf Hunter, a character in the Wolf Bride book, is a researcher for SEP, part-time forest ranger and one of your love interests. Her suggested name is "Morgan" but the player can choose a name for her. She is first seen in Chapter 1.

Appearance[]

Werewolf Hunter's looks are determined by the player. Regardless of facial features however, she wears a white t-shirt underneath a green shirt, two golden necklaces with a golden coin and a red heart, and blue jeans. Occasionally, she also wears black sunglasses to conceal her loss of vision. What's more, in her wolf and primal form, she has golden fur.

Personality[]

Based on her past experiences, Werewolf Hunter believes that the werewolves are "cursed" and in werewolf form, they are a danger to society and to humans in general. As a person, Werewolf Hunter can be described as sweet, and depending on your allegiance and who you romance the most, protective or overprotective. She is also very focused on her studies and research, making you and her come to conclusion that she's a total nerd. Despite her hatred for werewolves however, she usually tries to avoid hurting them at all costs, unless it's necessary. This can be seen from how angry she gets when Sergei shoots Jett in Chapter 5.

Background[]

Werewolf Hunter believes she was abandoned at birth, and for that reason, she doesn't know anything about her biological parents. Bernard Sayre found her just outside of town and raised her as his own. When she was a child, she and her adoptive father were attacked by werewolves. At the same attack, they also burned down her childhood home, and almost killed her as well. Werewolf Hunter says that they found her hiding spot, but instead of hurting her, they smelled her presence and then left. Eventually, these traumatic events led her to hate werewolves. What's more, In second grade, she did her school's video assignment on equine evolution, and when she was seventeen or eighteen, she would come to the forest to listen to birdsongs and keep recordings of what she heard and where.

After she and Alpha Werewolf are revealed to be siblings (they share the same father, the previous Alpha, but have different mothers), more information comes to light about her parents and how she was abandoned. According to Noemi, Werewolf Hunter was born during the full moon in the woods and her mother died right afterwards, but the Pack abandoned her because they couldn't raise a child with disabilities, and because the Pack's mentality was that babies born during that time don't have a big chance of survival. If she had been raised by the Pack, she would have been Alpha which is why your Bonding Ceremony to the Pack's Alpha in Chapter 2 also bonded her and you.

Relationships[]

Your Character[]

You meet Werewolf Hunter when she and two forest rangers find you with Alpha Werewolf alongside the road. She offers to take you to town and call to get your car repaired, and you can choose to go with her or to follow Alpha on a short-cut through the forest.

Later, when you are taken to the Den by Jett and Isobel, she finds you the next day and tries to take you back to town. You can go willingly or defend the Pack's actions to her. If you choose to go with her, you find out that she is an ecological researcher. She is in the middle of a ten year environmental impact assessment project, where she is studying local predator populations. She measures the levels of predation around Hunt's Peak and less populated areas.

Alpha Werewolf[]

She and Alpha have a disharmonious relationship. She doesn't appear shocked when he, Jett, and Callum transform into werewolves in front of her, and though she doesn't want to leave you with them, she can't fight them by herself.

In Chapter 11, Noemi reveals she is Alpha's older half-sister, born two years before him on a full moon night in February. He becomes conflicted about both of their roles in the Pack, angry that the truth was hidden from him but also angry about her hunting his Pack members. He states that she is personally responsible for the deaths of at least three Pack members and the disappearances of many more.

Bernard Sayre[]

In the beginning, she states that Bernard Sayre is her employer. He funds her research. She defends his company, saying that they do a lot for the community such as fundraisers, charity drives, and food banks. The company built the high school a new auditorium. In Chapter 9, she reveals Bernard is her adoptive father. Although she was primarily researching werewolves, she also researched other forest life and wanted to show him how some species' populations have declined since he ramped up mining operations.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Lucid Dreaming: She is aware she is dreaming while she is asleep, and is able to control how the action unfolds.
  • Therianthropy[1]: the ability to metamorphose into other animals by means of shapeshifting. These werewolves can transform themselves from human to werewolf (Primal) and to wolf. Werewolf Hunter is able to shift into Primal form for the first time in Chapter 15.
  • Werewolf Physiology: the power to use the abilities of a werewolf. This includes:
    • Enhanced Body: Even in human form, werewolves can heal more quickly than humans.
    • Enhanced Agility
    • Enhanced Durability
    • Enhanced Endurance
    • Enhanced Reflexes
    • Enhanced Senses: She can feel things such as the place on her cheek where a branch blocked the wind, and can smell dew on leaves and moss on bark. She can distinguish between different people's scents; with that, she forms a mental map based on how strong scents are, how old, and the direction of the wind. The more she describes how her senses work, the more you're convinced that her senses aren't human. It later becomes clear that they're part of her being a wolf.
    • Enhanced Speed: They are faster than most humans, due to their ties to Primal magic.
    • Enhanced Stamina
    • Enhanced Strength: They are stronger than most humans, due to their ties to Primal magic.
