Veronica Roberts

Veronica Roberts, a character in the Ms. Match book, is the former CEO of Two's Co. Matchmaking Services. She makes her first appearance in Chapter 1.

Appearance

Veronica has dark brown eyes, silver hair styled in a tousled bob, and dark skin. She wears a cream turtleneck under a grey pea coat, styled with coordinating gold and amber jewelry.

Personality

Although Veronica appears to have an aura that makes others think she'd be cold and judgmental, Veronica has a big heart and is intuitive to her matches' needs. She is a romantic, ambitious, and extroverted individual. However, she is also a self-protective woman and doesn't trust easily. She is used to never showing weakness or insecurity. She is also quite strict as she forbids coworkers from dating and fires those who break this rule.

Your Character

Veronica is impressed with your matchmaking talent, enough so that she offers you a job as a matchmaker moments after meeting you.

In Chapter 6, after the competition to become CEO has whittled down to you and Rival Matchmaker, Veronica becomes your final client. She would like a match to retire with, someone who treats her differently than her husband did. She gives you both her files with a long list of "must have"s for potential partners. For example, her matches must not be shorter than she is, and must be extroverted. When you try to corner her for more information, she gives you basic information that most people want: loyalty, security, honesty, confidence. She wants someone who can keep up with her and won't be intimidated or insecure.

She also states that if she doesn't choose a successor by the time the divorce proceedings are finished, she might be forced to sell her shares back to the investors, who then would sell them to Richard. Knowing Richard, she feels he would ruin the company just to spite her.

Rival Matchmaker

Rival Matchmaker is one of her top senior matchmakers. He/she is upset that he/she is not automatically chosen to become her successor as CEO but hides his/her feelings about it from Veronica.

Jeremy

Jeremy is Veronica's nosy assistant, later to be revealed to be her nephew. He wants to become a matchmaker, but she keeps him as her assistant. To Rival, Veronica appears worried that Jeremy is going to snoop around her business and she doesn't want it known that she is getting a divorce and is looking for a match herself. She feels that her company was built on the love or the premise of love between her and her husband, and if it becomes known that there is trouble in their relationship, the press and paparazzi will eat her alive and destroy her company.

When you arrange a date between her and Damien/Arthur, Veronica's suspicions are confirmed as Rival caught Jeremy spying on and following Maggie when the latter bought tickets for Rigoletto for the date. Rival proceeded to steal Jeremy's ticket from him and take his place at the opera with you.

While Jeremy feels jaded that he was tossed from family business to family business like a hot potato and that Veronica took him out of pity, Veronica says she took him out of love, to give him a chance, thinking they were kindred in being the outcasts of the family. Their family warned her about him, but she thought they were just being mean and not giving him the chance. When she finds out all that he has done to ruin her, she realizes their family was right about him.

Drew

Drew is Your Character's father, although Veronica is unaware of this. She meets him at The Stockyard, and the two immediately begin chatting. She comments that she has always found bartenders attractive, and the two bond over cassette tapes and gumball machines. In the end, she finds him to be the perfect match for her and gives the position of Two's Co. CEO to you.

She shares the same name as Veronica Lombardi from the Queen B series.
She shares the same surname with Kyree Roberts from Inheritance.
Her character model resembles Cassiopeia from Nightbound.
The reporters refer Veronica as "Mrs. Roberts" in Chapter 1 and "Ms. Hart" in Chapter 2. Hart could be her surname prior to her marriage.
In Chapter 10, Veronica reveals she is considered the black sheep of her family because she refused to be a stock trader. In Chapter 15, Jeremy says their family is also full of lawyers, doctors and bankers.
Veronica loves the opera, with her favorite opera being Carmen, as mentioned by you in Chapter 13.
