Vaanu is a character from the Endless Summer series. It is responsible for giving Embers of Hope to the Catalysts. Its name was later revealed to be Vaanu from the Clockmaker in Book 3, Chapter 6. It is first seen in Book 3, Chapter 1.
Appearance
Vaanu appears to have the transparent body of a bald male figure with stars radiating all over it. It usually emits green lights all over its body, but changes into a swirling vortex of different colors depending on the emotional state. When happy, the vortex is green. When surprised, it's white while the body glows gray. When sad, it's gray while the body glows black. When angry, it's black while the body glows gray.
Personality
Vaanu is shown to be extremely helpful and peaceful. Its main purpose throughout Book 3 is to give the Catalysts their Embers of Hope and boost their confidence through positive visions of their future.
It also has a strong sense of justice, forcing disreputable people to suffer from nightmarish hallucinations, as exhibited in the Act 7 bonus scene when it grabbed Rex Lundgren's head for threatening The Endless.
