The Sun Court is the spring and summer seat of the All-Fae who rules over the Fae World in The Cursed Heart series.
Shared with the Moon Court, who rule over the Fae during fall and winter, the Sun Court is home to the ruler of the Fae for six months of the year.
History[]
In ancient times, when the world was full of chaos and strife and Fae power ran unchecked, the two mightiest Fae leaders led their tribes in an unceasing battle for dominance of the world. The world burned and bled beneath their terrible magicks. Plants struggled to grow, animals became strange and rabid, and fledging human civilizations were often raised to the ground. But after centuries of battle and a cycle of never-ending death, neither could best the other. Growing tired of endless war, the two tribes came together to forge a treaty of peace in order to stop the bloodshed. Unable to declare a victor, they decided, instead, to share rule over the Fae. One was given dominion over Day, and the other, over Night. The cycles of Summer and Winter were formed. Thus, two Courts of Fae were born.
But the balance of power is a delicate dance that must be performed under strict rules, or else risk all-out war again. The ancient Fae, the first High Princes and Princesses, laid down the rules governing hospitality and propriety, forcing a cordial relationship between the former enemies. No Fae may attack another without just cause or accuse another of impropriety without proof. The two courts each build a palace embodying their respective ideals. The Sun Palace is a glittering, bright beacon of purity, order, and intellect while the Moon Palace is an emblem of dark grandeur, freedom, and passion. This divide also allowed human societies to grow and flourish without constant fear of attack by the Fae. Some say however, that the war between the courts never ended, but rather went underground, the members plotting and scheming carefully and awaiting the right opportunity to finish off the other side.
Layout[]
The Sun Court Palace is very spacious, with bright colors and golden decorations evident both in the exterior and the interior of the palace. There are several bedrooms, a big throne room, a big library, and a big ballroom where Fae nobles often dine in. There's also a big garden with sculptures, and according to Radiance, they were built by one of their most famous sculptors called Prisma, and her apprentice.
