Welcome to The Princess Swap Theory Page. This is a place where you can discuss confirmed, debunked, and unconfirmed theories from The Princess Swap series.
Confirmed Theories
- Single love interest: Due to the recent surge in single love interest stories, it is believed this story will have one love interest as well, with the main character and Princess Julivert having one love interest each. This is confirmed with the appearance of Devin and Clarke.
- Genderlocked: Players believe that the story will be genderlocked because the title contains the word "princess". This is strengthened by the fact that this is the only book that wasn't confirmed to be Gender of Choice in Choices Insiders January 2022. On 23th March, 2022, Pixelberry released Sneak Peeks for both main characters with both of them being females, thus confirming this theory.
- The Main Character is a princess: Given that the book has "twins" as one of the keywords and because the writers stated in a blogpost that the main character and Princess Julivert are supposed to be twins, it is believed that the main character is most likely also a princess of Monterre. This is confirmed when King Edmond is revealed to be the main character's father, making her a member of the Julivert family.
- Delta's Allegiance: Some players believe that some members of the Deltas might switch to other sororities, and that Stephanie will be the one behind it due to her antagonistic behaviour, and due to the fact that she was the only Greek leader not upset about the imminent close of the Deltas. This is confirmed in Chapter 10 when it's revealed that Luna and a few other Delta members have switched to Theta Pi Phi, and that Stephanie was responsible.
- Thetas' Allegiance: On the other hand, another theory suggests that by the end, the Thetas may turn against Stephanie. This is strengthened with their refusal of obeying Stephanie's orders, and eventually confirmed in Chapter 14 when Luna rejoins Delta Theta Delta, and when Lexie and Jas abandon Stephanie and join the Deltas as well, apologizing and saying that they are tired of Stephanie treating them terribly, and that they do not want to be like her.
- Storyline: It is believed that the story will be similar to "The Prince and the Pauper", where a prince (In this case, princess) and peasant or commoner switch places. This is confirmed in Chapter 1.
- Cecil will be the Big Bad: Given Cecil's behaviour towards the main character, it is believed that he will be the Big Bad of the book. What's more, some players believe that he might sabotage the peace talks between Ismar and Monterre. This is confirmed in Chapter 15 when Cecil blackmails and threatens to expose the main character with some photos he has of her, unless she sabotages Clarke's Farewell Ball and refuses his/her potential proposal.
- Playing Cupid with Faye and Dash: Based on their interactions, it is believed that there will be a premium scene where Princess Julivert could set them up together as a couple, given that they seem to have a crush on each other. This is confirmed in Chapter 17 when Faye brings Devin as her date to the Farewell Ball, and Princess Julivert has the chance to set them up together in a premium scene.
- Stephanie and Cecil: Due to their behaviour, it is theorized that Stephanie and Cecil will be the Big Bads of each side, with Stephanie being the main antagonist for Princess Julivert, and Cecil being the main antagonist for the main character. This is confirmed when both Stephanie and Cecil are revealed to be the Big Bads of each respective side for different reasons.
Debunked Theories
- NC-17: Due to the recent surge in mature-tagged stories, it is believed this story will be mature as well. This is debunked as the book isn't labelled as 17+.
- Storyline: Players theorize that the story might be similar to the movies "The Parent Trap" or "Wife Swap" where either twins change places to live with their other parent, or where the two main characters swaps wives with dramatically different lifestyles. Both of these theories are debunked, as the story is completely different.
- Luna's switch: There is a theory that she is still loyal to the Deltas and only joined the Thetas to find out more about their plans, to persuade Thetas to join the Deltas, or to go against Stephanie in some way. This is debunked in Chapter 14.
- Sequel: Given the Trending tag on the book, it is suspected that the book might be popular enough to get a sequel. If this is true, a potential cliffhanger may revolve around a new falling out between the two countries after the swap is revealed. This is debunked when PB announced through their social media that this book is a standalone.
- Cecil as Big Bad: Given that Cecil is the Big Bad, there is a possibility that he will try to dethrone King Edmond. Alternatively, if the theory that the the main character and Princess Julivert are twins is true, he might have had a hand in their separation. This is debunked by the end of the Book, as Cecil's only crime is blackmail.
- Cecil had a hand in the queen's death: Since the Queen's cause of death isn't stated, it is theorized that she was murdered by Cecil because Cecil didn't like her influence on King Edmond, similar to Godfrey and Eleanor Rys from The Royal Romance. This is debunked by the end of the Book, as Cecil's only crime is blackmail.
- Adoption: Some players have theorized that King Edmond will adopt the main character once he learns the truth, as well as help fund the Deltas to keep them afloat. This is debunked as no such thing happens.
- Anna: Additionally, due to the revelation that Anna and King Edmond were in love in the past, it is believed that Anna will be eventually invited to Monterre, and that she and King Edmond could be matchmaked together. This is debunked as well.
