Welcome to The Phantom Agent Theory Page. This is a place where you can discuss confirmed, debunked, and unconfirmed theories from the The Phantom Agent series.
Confirmed Theories
- Release date: Due to the latest books being released at the end of each month (the last Wednesday/Friday), it is believed this book will be released on August 24, 26 or 31. The theory is confirmed when the release date is revealed in-app to be August 31, 2022.
- Rowan is The Contractor: It is believed that Rowan didn't die when the target in Chapter 1 detonated a bomb, but instead survived, and ended up becoming The Contractor. These are because he/she is featured in a sneak peek, and characters featured in sneak peeks are often the love interests. He/She being The Contractor is strengthened when the gender of the masked assassin in Chapter 3 is the same as the gender you picked for Rowan and because both assassins supposedly work for The Architect. This is further strengthened in Chapter 7 when The Contractor seems to be good at fighting. This is confirmed in Chapter 11 when Rowan is revealed to be The Contractor.
- Rowan's allegiance: Since Rowan joined The Architect willingly, there is a possibility that he/she'll redeem or that you'll have the option to turn him/her back to your side. This is confirmed in Chapter 15, where Rowan redeems him/herself regardless of your choices.
- Single love interest: Given that Rowan is revealed to be a villain and The Contractor in Chapter 11, players believe that this makes Agent Gray the only love interest in the story. In Chapter 15, Rowan eventually comes back to your side, but because he/she is killed by the Architect, the theory is confirmed, as Agent Gray becomes the only romance option.
Debunked Theories
- 17+: It is theorized that due to the setting of the story, the book it will be Mature-tagged. This is debunked when the mature tag did not appear.
- General Release date: It is theorized since the previous book landed on another release day, this book would be as well. This is debunked when the General Release airs on October 19, 2022 which is also a Wednesday.
- Rowan as The Contractor: Players theorize that the reason Rowan became The Contractor is because he/she was tasked with working undercover to take down the Architect. Another reason could be that Rowan has amnesia, or that he/she was somehow brainwashed by the Architect. All of these are debunked when it's revealed that Rowan willingly joined the Architect because he/she believed in him.
- Potential Love Triangle: It is theorized that if Rowan survives the shot and returns as a love interest, a love triangle may arise shortly after. This is debunked with Rowan's death.
- Charm/Partners: Given the presence of two different score points in the story, it is theorized that they will either play a role by the end, or unlock special or extra scenes. This is debunked as none of the scores affect anything in the story.
