• The name GAIA, which stands for Global Agency for Intelligence Affairs, is a reference to the Greek goddess of the Earth.
• Chapter 4 shares the same title as Open Heart, Book 1, Chapter 1, "The Doctor is In".
• Chapter 8 shares the same title as Endless Summer, Book 3, Chapter 2, "Tricks of the Trade".
• Chapter 12 shares the same title as The Royal Romance, Book 2, Chapter 2, "Reunion".
• In Chapter 4, if you tell Vivian to not let her access to everything electronic in the hospital get to her head, she will reference Spiderman by asking "Is this the 'with great power, comes great responsibility' speech?"
• In Chapter 6, Vivian makes a reference to Star Wars by asking if Han shot first. Later, she references Transformers when she says: "Autobots, roll out."
  • In Chapter 7, she makes another Star Wars reference by calling Your Character "my young Padawan".
  • Chapter 11 contains more Star Wars references from her: she knocks in time of the Imperial March, and if you use the "Mision Vision" goggles, she will compare the lasers to lightsabers.
• Chapter 8 has a potential reference to a Spiderman antagonist. If we say that The Architect wants Norma's technology, somewhere in the conversation Vivian would say "He doesn't want to become Doc Ock, does he?"
• Chapter 10 has a potential reference to Icarus. If the bid for Forsaken Freedom starts with a high number instead of with the minimum amount, Agent Gray would say to Your Caracter, "you're flying too close to the sun".
• In Chapter 11, Vivian references both the song "Space Oddity" and Buzz Lightyear when she says "Ground Control to Major Tom... Come in, Star Command... Is this thing even on?"
