Current & Unconfirmed Theories
- Your Origin: Because you dream of being in a castle despite having no memory of living anywhere but your village, and because you were cursed as a baby due to fears of what you may become as an adult, it's theorized that you were born into a powerful noble or royal family.
- Aiko's Daughter: Aiko's storybook effectively confirms that her sorceress daughter was the one who cursed you. As such, many players expect that Aiko's daughter will be the book's main antagonist.
- Valko/Valka's Curse: A Chapter 1 premium scene reveals that Valko/Valka was forced to leave the Capital after a "falling out" with someone. Considering his/her curse prevents him/her from being around more than two people without turning into a wolf, it's theorized this means Valko/Valka had to abandon city life after being cursed by someone he/she trusted, such as a teacher or fellow student of sorcery.
- Some have also theorized that Valko/Valka was cursed by the same person who cursed you.
- Aiko's Fate: Although you and Wynn believe Aiko dies early in Chapter 2 after seeing her swarmed by monsters, the fact that you don't actually witness her death has led some players to suspect she may have survived and will return later to help defeat your curse.
- Cameos: With the confirmation that this book takes place within the same world as The Cursed Heart, many players have wondered if you will encounter familiar characters on your journey, such as Kieran, Leaf, or Longclaw.
Confirmed Theories
- Spinoff: Due to the similarity of the names, some theorize that the story will be a spinoff of The Cursed Heart series. The book's pre-release blog post confirmed that the two titles take place within the same world.
