The Skirmish in the Grasslands is a confrontation in Azura's Invasion of The Five Kingdoms, in which a small Stormholt scouting group attacked Azura's army on the way to Stormholt
Prelude
Escorted by a group of Iron Empire soldiers, Raydan accompanies Azura and Jorrin to Stormholt. There, he meets Lia, who saw through the lies he told her. When Raydan asks her about her mother's lightning magic, she reveals that the Empress uses it not just for power, but also to preserve her life and youth.
Shocked, Raydan asks Lia about her mother's age, and she replies that Azura has been Empress since the king of Marossi died. Raydan realizes Azura has been behind every war between the Empire and the Five Kingdoms, as Marossi hasn't had a king in a thousand years. The player can choose to learn about Azura's history in a premium choice.
Then, Raydan shows Lia the book he found in the Library of Ennan, asking her if she speaks Ancient Irithi, and if she could help him translate the text. Lia says her mother taught her to speak it, but was unsure whether to help him translate the text. Raydan then reveals he is a spy for Stormholt, shocking Lia, who says she knew all along. Still, she agrees to help him translate the book.
The Battle
Suddenly, the party stumbles upon a group of Stormholt soldiers, who charge towards them. Raydan realizes they must be a scouting party caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, as they weren't armed for an ambush.
Raydan tells Lia to escape, and is then confronted by Captain Jackson, who believes him to be a traitor. He tries his best to explain himself, but Jackson doesn't buy it and attacks him. Raydan knows he must catch up to Lia before her pursuers, and he manages to do so, whilst avoiding hurting any Stormholt soldiers in the process.
The remaining Iron Empire troops then report that while most of the Stormholt scouts are killed, Jackson managed to escape with a few others.
Aftermath
When Raydan hears of a threat to Kenna, he returns to Stormholt to try and warn her before the assassins reach her. Depending on player choice, he may bring Azura's daughter, Lia, with him.
