Shiloh, a character in the Immortal Desires series, is a student, a Clement Vampire, one of Gabe's friends, and a follower of the Creator. He is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 7.

Appearance

Shiloh has short black hair, brown eyes, and tanned skin. He wears a white shirt underneath a blue sweater.

Personality

On the surface, Shiloh seems nice and friendly. This is all but a facade however, as it is revealed that he's nothing but cruel, violent and disloyal. It is also revealed that he killed many vampires (And possibly humans) from both Crimson Beech and Flagstone Cove.

Background

He has been around since the early days of Crimson Beech and says he was a young vampire at the time. In Chapter 12, it is revealed that he's a traitor and that he's been working for the Creator for months. What's more, he's been feeding the Creator with information and with blueprints of the Nexus, so that he and his minions can attack and wipe them out.

Relationships

Scott

He fights against Scott, telling him that their stupidity comes with consequences. When Gabe gets angry, Shiloh tells him/her that Scott is the one who started the fight. If you decide to take Shiloh back to the Nexus to face punishment for his crimes, Cas rips off his head, and Scott and Margo are seen kicking his head around like a ball.

Your Character

You officially meet him for the first time in Chapter 7, when Gabe introduces you to him and the rest of his/her vampire friends. He seems nice and friendly towards you, and tells you about his background and that he's lived in Crimson Beech since its early days. Later, you have the chance to go rock climbing with him, Gabe and the others. When he's revealed to be a traitor, he orders the rest of the vampires to attack you, and once you defeat him, you have the chance to either take him back to the Covens to face punishment, or let him run away. It is also revealed that he is the one who planted the owl mask in your bedroom, and the reason was because he wanted Astoria and Lewyn to be busy with you and your mom, so that he can conduct his hostile takeover in peace without anyone suspecting him.

If you decide to let him go, he appears with the Creator in Chapter 14, coldly smirking as his past covenmates struggle under the Creator's power. It is unclear whether he runs away afterwards as he doesn't appear near the Creator when you return to trick the Creator into drinking your tainted blood.

Gabe Adalhard

Shiloh is one of Gabe's friends, whom the latter considered a brother. When he's exposed as traitor, Gabe demands answers as to why he did it. At first Shiloh says that Gabe would never understand, but then he explains that the Creator has offered them freedom and the ability to make their own alliances, meaning no lay lines, no covens, and no borders.

Powers and Abilities

  • Enhanced Strength: Vampires are stronger than most humans.
  • Enhanced Speed: Vampires can travel faster than humans.
  • Ley Lines: Ley lines are underground sources of energy that vampires can utilize. They give vampires the ability to be resilient to sunlight.

Weaknesses

  • Aversion to Silver: Silver can burn vampires. Several vampire-hunting talismans use silver as a ward against vampires, and specifically prepared silver can paralyze them.
  • Decapitation: Dismembering or manually removing the head of a vampire will result in instant and permanent death.
  • Sunlight: Originally, vampires found sunlight to be debilitating and were greatly weakened under its gaze. This changed when vampires found ley lines of power that nullified this weakness.
  • Ley Lines: While the ley lines nullify the weaknesses vampires have to the sun, this is dependent upon contact with the ley line and if the vampire leaves Crimson Beech, they will swiftly lose this power.
  • Vampire Blood: Vampire blood is poisonous to other vampires. Even a drop or two is enough to make a vampire ill.
  • Bloodlust: When vampires do not regularly feed, they are in danger of turning "feral", unable to reason with or talk to until the thirst for blood is quenched.
