San Francisco is a coastal city.[3] Its location in northwest California gives it a cooler, wetter climate[4] than cities further south, such as Los Angeles.

In The Freshman, San Francisco is the hometown of Tyler, one of your character's roommates. During summer vacation, you and your friends make plans to go to a music festival together over the summer. On your way there, you drive from Hartfeld University to your friends' homes, ending with picking up Tyler and his girlfriend Abbie from his family home in San Francisco. While there, you also have the opportunity to visit Alcatraz, the famous decommissioned prison,[5] before leaving to camp on a beach in the area.
The Heist: Monaco (Determinant)
In the "average" ending, Your Character (The Heist: Monaco), Rye, and Eris meet up after a few years in San Francisco to catch up on how you have all been doing since the job in Monaco, and you tell them about your overall success in your criminal career.
High School Story, Book 2
After breaking into Principal Isa's office, Your Character (High School Story) and your friends find information linking her to the San Francisco-based company ClickIt. You arrange a day trip to San Francisco to look through the company's records in hopes of finding information that can help you expose Isa's manipulation and embezzlement at Oliver M. Berry High.
Once you arrive at the ClickIt offices, you meet Martin and TJ. You and Emma have the option to star in a viral cupcake-baking video to expedite the process of waiting for the paperwork. Regardless of whether or not the video is done, they eventually let you look through the financial records from Ashely's time with the company. This gives you the evidence you need to convince Detective Flores to arrest Isa, therefore removing her as principal of Berry High.
Inheritance
As the location of the headquarters of Vitality, your family's tech corporation, San Francisco is the primary setting for Inheritance.

LoveHacks, Book 1
The #LoveHacks series begins with the main character returning to her hometown of San Francisco after having worked as a writer in New York City for some time. She is hired by the San Francisco company ClickIt, which specializes in the production of clickbait content, to write "Love Hacks", a recurring column about modern love and dating.
While there, she reconnects with a close friend from college, Mark Collins, and becomes close with his social circle, even moving in with his friends Brooke and Sereena. As she establishes herself at ClickIt, you have the opportunity to recruit Leah Myers to the company. Regardless of whether or not you recruit her, the two women end up establishing their own company at the end of the book. At the party celebrating the establishment of their new company, a fire starts in the Double Tap, burning down the bar.
LoveHacks, Book 2
Book 2 resumes immediately after the events of Book 1, as the friend group evacuates the Double Tap. While fleeing the burning bar, Brooke meets Keo Parata, a handsome firefighter with whom she is immediately smitten. The Double Tap is closed to undergo repairs following the fire, leaving Horatio temporarily out of a gig.
Meanwhile, the main character and Leah try to establish their new company, initially working from home while they try to get their website off the ground. They continue to face competition from ClickIt, but gain more financial security after securing an investment from Blaire Hall. After beating out ClickIt for the Blackbourne Award (a prestigious prize in online media) they become fully established as a competitor in the online media scene.
Perfect Match, Book 2
After rescuing Damien, Your Character (Perfect Match) and your friends leave Tokyo for San Francisco in pursuit of Khaan Mousavi, the programming genius with whom Sloane used to work at Eros, in hopes that he can help you bring down the corporation. You are able to deduce the company and project he is currently working on and manage to gain entry to the release party of his new virtual reality game.
You find Khaan and manage to convince him that you are not working on behalf of Eros. You stay with Khaan at his apartment for some time before successfully infiltrating Eros' San Francisco headquarters.
Red Carpet Diaries, Book 2
After being recruited to be a part of Thomas Hunt's new film, Your Character (Red Carpet Diaries) accompanies him to San Francisco to seek funding for the film. While in the city, she is able to go out with Thomas in a premium scene where he reveals that he used to live in San Francisco for at least six months a few years ago when he needed inspiration after his second feature. He then takes her to Twin Peaks where she can ask him to show her the place where he used to live through the viewfinder. She meets with Tucker Paisley the following day, a tech mogul looking to diversify his investments. Tucker is convinced to provide financial backing to The Last Duchess, ensuring that the film can be independently produced, before returning home to Los Angeles.

In a premium scene of Chapter 3, you mention to Asha that you have friends in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
High School Story: Class Act, Book 3
In Chapter 4, Mr. Crandall tells you that the reason he and his wife are unexpectly at home when you arrive for the party is because their business associates had to cancel their meeting, with the reason being bad weather for flying over in San Francisco.
Rising Tides
At the end of the book, Your Character (Rising Tides) is offered a job with the Natural Resources Defense Council, which is located in San Francisco.
Rules of Engagement, Book 3 (Determinant)
If Main Character is engaged to Business Guy, she will meet Rashad again in Chapter 3. Rashad has to leave early because he has to drive to San Francisco for a business meeting.
The Heist: Monaco (Determinant)
If Sybil is recruited as the crew's thief, she will mention in Chapter 14 that she "once spent a semester in San Francisco renting out a very comfy coffin".

- In LoveHacks, Book 1, Ben Park takes the main character to a baseball game. He tells her to wear orange and black, the color of the home team, rather than purple, the color of the opposing team. Orange and black are the colors of the real San Francisco Giants, while purple is the color of their biggest rivals, the Colorado Rockies.[6]
- Ben's mural makes a cameo in Perfect Match, Book 2, Chapter 5, when Khaan parks in front of it to talk to all of you after you find him at the launch party.
- The same mural appears again in Chapters 6 and 7. The Chapter 6 scene names the area Clarion Alley.
