Robbie, a character in the It Lives Beneath book, is a friend of Elliot Vance. He is first seen in Chapter 2.

Appearance

Robbie has brown hair, brown eyes, and light skin. He wears a green cardigan over a black undershirt.

Personality

Unlike his father, Robbie is kind and friendly. He seems uncomfortable with his father's social circle, hovering at the edges of the partying and eagerly agreeing if you refer to the wealthy guests as being snobs.

As he is not a part of the Society, Robbie is initially skeptical about your claims of the paranormal occurences in Pine Springs and even calls the cops on you after you escape Richard's house. After the attack on the Lake Day festival, he shows himself to be a brave and loyal person, begging to come along and help search for Elliot rather than allowing himself to be taken to safety by the Society.

Relationships

Elliot Vance

Elliot is Robbie's friend, who is hinted to have a crush on Robbie despite his denial of it. They meet in Chapter 2, when Robbie tells Elliot that Lake Day is happening in the following week. In Chapter 7, if you tell him that they would make a cute couple, Robbie blushes and confirms that he would like to date Elliot. He asks you for permission to ask him out. In Chapter 10, if you supported their relationship, they will kiss and become boyfriends. Despite not knowing Elliot for a long time, he is very protective of him. If you insist that he stay with the Society and keep himself safe, he is extremely upset and holds it against you for the rest of the story. If you tell Robbie to come with you in Chapter 11, then he will show up in Chapter 14, refusing to leave Elliot. In Chapter 16, you also see him outside your grandpa's home, alive but injured, and take him to your boat. In Chapter 17, you have the option of getting ice cream with both boys.

Richard Sutcliffe

Richard is Robbie's father. They don't have a close relationship given that he isn't a fan of his father's friends and Richard is seen scolding him for not wearing a tuxedo. Robbie also says Richard is not a fan of his "life choices", his friends or who he dates. In Chapter 17, Robbie presumes his father is dead even though they haven't found his body, because it has been two months since the last attacks and his body would not have survived the heat. Richard did not contact him.

Mother

In Chapter 7, he reveals that his mother lives in Tulsa with her partner Jamie. He doesn't get to visit her as much he would like, but he sees her at Hanukkah and New Year's. In Chapter 17, you tell Elliot that Robbie will go back to live with his mother in Tulsa soon.

Imogen

Although Imogen and Robbie don't know each other extremely well, they are well acquainted with each other since both of their families are members of Pine Springs' wealthy upper echelons. Unlike most of the town's upper crust, Robbie seems to have a very high opinion of Imogen and visibly perks up when you mention that she is a friend of yours. He describes her as being "the best," and the two greet each other warmly when they encounter each other later on.
