Relationships
Your Character
Perdita is your sister, and the two of you were close before her disappearance four years ago. On the day of her funeral, you refuse to attend her service and are shown to be angry that people assume she's dead while you believe that she could still be alive. Your family decided to bury an empty coffin a year after her disappearance in an attempt to gain closure as Perdita was never found and the police had given up in their search. Throughout the book, you can take premium scenes to relive memories of her. She taught you tricks that help you with your own investigations and sometimes also involved in you in one of her own investigations.
Jeremy Walters
Jeremy was Perdita's boyfriend at the time of her disappearance. Perdita was supposed to be with him the night she disappeared, but when Jeremy was questioned, nothing came up that could incriminate him. Prior to Perdita's disappearance, you overhear the two of them talking about a case, with Jeremy saying that she got in too deep, and with Perdita saying that she can't stop now. In Chapter 8 during a flashback, Perdita mentions that the things people do for love are mysterious, and that it's hard to distinguish love from obsession. You ask her whether she was talking about Mrs Eckberg and the teacher of Eckberg's kids (the case in the flashback scene) or about her and Jeremy. She says "I'm just saying in general."
Kyle Waters
Kyle was friends with Perdita when they were in high school, and he was the investigative reporter to her private eye. They worked together on a piece about the park, and later when Perdita started investigating the hospital corruption case, she asked Kyle to help her access the hospital's blueprints. In the same premium scene, it's revealed that he was in love with her, but Perdita only saw him as a friend. Kyle also didn't like Jeremy, and believed that Perdita deserved better and that she shouldn't change herself for a boy. He only started working at the hospital as she was investigating it before her disappearance, hoping that it may bring him some answers on what she was working on.
