Nehal Mistry, a character in The Elementalists series, is one of Kavya Mistry's daughters and the younger sister of Shreya Mistry. Although she is mentioned in previous chapters, she makes her first appearance in Book 2, Chapter 11.
Appearance
Nehal has brown eyes, long black hair, and tan skin. She wears a dark pine green sweater with a white jeweled Peter Pan collar.
Personality
According to Shreya, Nehal thinks first and acts second. She knows just the right thing to say or do. She never has been a problem child as she can rationalize her way out of anything.

Shreya Mistry
Nehal is Shreya's younger sister, who is still in high school. If you spend time with Shreya, she tells you that Nehal balances her personality and supports her more than their parents do. Nehal is Shreya's rock and makes her feel like the "cool older sister" that Shreya tries to be. One time after Shreya's birthday, she ate all the leftover eclairs and rationalized that Shreya did not put her name on them; they didn’t talk to each other for a week. Before Shreya started Penderghast, they used to watch garbage TV shows together on Sunday. Her favorite is "My Attuneless Half Boyfriend".
While Shreya as the eldest is expected to take over the family business, Nehal has more choices - as long as her choices bring her prestige. Shreya is dumbfounded that Nehal wants to work for the family when the latter could basically forge her own path, something that Shreya wants herself.
In Book 2, Shreya continues her business, Serene and Sublime, which she started in the summer with Nehal's help. In Chapter 11, if you go to lunch with Atlas and Shreya in the premium scene, Shreya mentions that Nehal invented a spell called "Service de Dejeuner", a hands-free eating spell. At the Mistry gala afterwards, Nehal encourages Shreya to impresses their mother and potential investors and clientele with you and your friends' help.
