- The book takes place in the 2021-2022 school year, as noted by the following:
- Gabbie gave Tyler a pocket square with the date "September 16th, 2021" embroidered on it.
- Tyler has university catalogs featuring the school year 2021-22 in his locker.
- In Chapter 13, Your Character tells Millie it's 2022. The chapter happens shortly before Winter Formal.
- Chapter 2 shares the same title as Queen B, Book 1, Chapter 6, "Keep Your Enemies Close".
- Chapter 4 mentions the show Sesame Street that Sophia currently watches and that you and Stevie watched when you were her age. You state that vampires like the Count, however, don't belong on a show for babies.
- Chapter 6 shares the same title as The Haunting of Braidwood Manor, Chapter 4 and America's Most Eligible: All Stars, Chapter 14, "Behind Closed Doors".
- A premium scene of this chapter references the 2012 The Avengers. Tyler dressed up as Thor three Halloweens in a row which surprises Stevie as she took him for a Captain America guy.
- Chapter 10 shares the same title as Hero, Chapter 14, "Prisoner's Dilemma".
- This is the first book under the current VIP system to have its VIP and general releases occur on different days, with VIP chapters releasing on Fridays and wide release chapters airing on Wednesdays.
- However, according to PB's latest tweet, the first chapter will be debuting on a Friday, which is September 9, 2022.
- On September 6, 2022, they corrected it back to September 14.[26]
- Chapter 8 gives a content warning for scenes involving the discussion of attempted sexual assault and an inappropriate teacher/student relationship.
- In Chapter 9, April compares you to Veronica Mars, the protagonist of the TV series of the same name, regardless of your pronouns and body type.
- In Chapter 12, if you explore the festival with Donovan, he will perform with Levi Schuler and later sing Levitating by Dua Lipa on his own.
- Chapter 15 is named as "Damsel in Distress" on the chapter list on socials. However, both in-game and the interface titles name the chapter as "Prey For Me".
- Chapter 16 shares the same title as a previous game of the Pixelberry founders, Surviving High School.
- All throughout Chapter 14, the vote at Winter Formal is called Snow Queen and King. Starting in Chapter 15, it's renamed Snowflake Queen and King for the rest of the story.
