Most Wanted, Book 2 is the second book of the Most Wanted series. It succeeds its first book, Most Wanted, Book 1. This book has now been canceled as of 2021.
According to Andrew Shvarts, Book 2 would have begun right where the first one ended, right after the death of Hayley Rose. Sam would've stayed in L.A. to investigate Hayley's murder due it's possible connection to Tull.
Together, the trail would have lead her and Dave to a decadent secret cult of the Hollywood elite... a cult they would have to infiltrate. The cult would be based on an obscure series of Fantasy novels from the 70's, led by the series' reclusive author. Hayley was a member of the cult, and was killed because they were concerned she would flip in jail.
Her killer, the primary enforcer of the cult, would have been a massive murderous cultist called The Beast, who had had surgery to be redone as a monster from the novels.
The final showdown would have involved saving a bunch of hostages from him, and the story would have branched differently depending on the reader's previous choices.
In the end, Sam and Dave would have shared a kiss, and Sam would have taken a permanent position in the LAPD homicide unit alongside Dave.

Trivia
This is the only canceled book to have its own covers published in advance, which was used on the older Choices versions.
In the 13th chapter of Endless Summer, Book 1, the player has the option of playing an arcade game that is named Most Wanted 2, and the game is described as a fictionalization of several "crazy murder cases" in LA. The game shows avatars of (but stops shorts of referring to by name) Dave and Sam. It is described that the game's antagonists are members of a cult; since a cult was not featured in the previous book of Most Wanted, this can be taken to mean that a cult would have been featured in this book.
