Relationships
Rory Silva
Rory and Martin have a good relationship, and Rory really admires him for being there for his/her mother.
In Class Act, Book 3, you and Rory see him together with your teacher, Diana Maddox. You follow him in Chapter 3 and spy on him while he meets Diana Maddox, and Rory deduces they must be having an affair. He/She confronts him at the end of Chapter 5. Martin tells Rory that he knows what he did was wrong, and that he will stop.
Your Character
If you decide to go to Rory's house with your theater friends to watch your performance of The Enchanted Kingdom on DVD, you all meet Rory's father, Martin Silva. He hasn't watched the performance yet, so he makes a date with Brenda Silva to watch it the upcoming weekend.
Brenda Silva
They seem to have a loving relationship, and have been married for almost seventeen years. Martin strives to support her during her cancer treatment. When you and Rory talk about prom, he says that he tried asking Brenda to prom with a homemade cupcake, but tripped and smeared it all over her sweater, indicating that they've known each other since then and were possibly high school sweethearts.
In Book 3, Chapter 11, they have a big fight in London after Brenda believes that Martin is cheating on her with Diana Maddox. However, Martin explains that they're just friends, and that they were in a support group of cancer patients together. The reason he kept it a secret was because he didn't want anyone to see him cry and he couldn't let himself be a burden on his family. Because of his father and his stoicism, Martin grew up believing the men of the house were strong and that crying was a weakness. He didn't want to be a failure of a husband. He then apologizes and Brenda tells him that she would support him nonetheless.
Diana Maddox
You and Rory first see them together in Book 3, Chapter 2. Their relationship is not clear, and in Chapter 3, you and Rory can choose to spy on them. You two hear him say that he has been able to tell Diana things he hasn't been able to tell his wife. Diana tries to encourage him to stop hiding his feelings but doesn't push the matter. Soon Rory assumes they are having an affair because Martin keeps hiding his meetings with Diana and keeping them a secret.
They are seen together again in London, and Diana is acting friendly towards Martin. When Brenda finds out the truth about their relationship, Martin admits that they are just friends who were in a support group for cancer patients, because Diana had recently lost her fiance too. They still remain friends afterwards.
