Marguerite Thorne

Marguerite Thorne, a character in the Crimes of Passion series, is a fashion designer and Trystan's half-sister. She is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 4.

Appearance

Marguerite has long wavy light brown hair, tanned skin and brown eyes. She wears a golden headband, golden earrings, and a golden snake necklace. She also wears a satin blue blouse, and navy blue suit pants. In Book 2, she has an obsidian prosthetic finger if Eleanor cut it off in Book 1.

Personality

Marguerite can be described as friendly and supportive. According to herself, she is very nosy and likes to know everything, and according to Trystan, she's also conniving in a good way.

Background

She is Trystan's half sister (nicknamed "Mags") who works as a fashion designer as well as the Drakovian ambassador to New York. The two share the same father, and she was conceived during an extra-marital affair.

Your Character

You meet her for the first time when Trystan brings you to her fashion house because he/she has to ask for her tickets to the ball. She says that because you're going as Trystan's date, you need to look the part because you'll be reflecting Drakovia, and she offers to sew an outfit for you. She tells you that while she'd rather stick to fashion, she does her duty as ambassador because her siblings are either psychopaths or exiles. If you decide to spend time with her, she asks you about yourself, and tells you how it was like for Trystan growing up as the Crown Prince/Princess. Marguerite is happy that Trystan has someone like you to look out for him/her, and believes that you deserve to know more about him/her.

Trystan Thorne

If you ask her about her relationship with Trystan, she says that they have always been close and have seen each other as siblings, despite their father's extramarital activities. She also mentions that she is the only one out of all her siblings that talk to him/her. She doesn't believe that Trystan is responsible for Juliana's death, and that he/she was just framed for Juliana's death but was so grief-stricken that he/she let the public make him/her a scapegoat. She also uses the fashion house and her ambassadorship as reasons to be in New York, to stay in contact with Trystan.

You stumble upon her again in Trystan's apartment in Chapter 8. She says that because she was in the neighbourhood, she thought of letting herself in. At first she is angry at Trystan for not responding to her text and for what happened at the Iverson Ball, but if you choose to ask whether she seems to enjoy it or not, Trystan says that by the end of the week, she will be turning that incident to her advantage.

Olivia Nevrakis

When Trystan asks for her tickets to the ball to help solve Sonja's murder, Marguerite in exchange needs Trystan to collect an SD card from her contact, who is an agent for another royal family. She doesn't know who the contact is, but only that the person will be wearing a red flower hairpin. As it is proven in Chapter 5, Marguerite's contact is none other than Olivia Nevrakis, the Duchess of Lythikos.

Kasper Thorne & Emika Thorne

The twins and Marguerite aren't close, even though their ages are similar; she and Emika mainly speak via email and discussed ways to "control" people through fashion. The twins were able to make the runway model cry during Marguerite's first show at the palace, smudging her mascara in the first few steps. Before the next models took the stage, Marguerite quickly fixed the situation. The fact that it was well received and called "haunting" infuriated Emika.

The name Marguerite is of Greek origin and means "pearl". It's the French version of the English name Margaret, its diminutives are Maggie and Peggy.
- She shares the same forename as Marguerite from The Heist: Monaco and Marguerite Steinhelm from the Queen B series.
Her family and she share the same surname as Garrett Thorne from Open Heart: Second Year and the default surname of Attorney as well as his/her sister from Surrender, Book 1.
In Chapter 16, her age is revealed as 23.
- Juliana's dossier reveals that she is the youngest of the Drakovian royal children, as she would be last in line had she been legitimized.
