The good, the bad, and the almost irrelevant. They are the miscellaneous characters that are there to answer that one question, explain away that one plot hole, assist in adding development to that actually relevant character, or give that good (or bad) advice. We usually never learn their names. They are there and they are gone as soon as they serve their purpose often never to be seen again. They may not be the most memorable but definitely have a role to play. If the "No Image" picture is used, it means that the particular character has only been mentioned and has never physically appeared.

Chapter 1

Clerk
He's a bookstore employee. When you beg him to help you find a good book, he installs Choices: Stories You Play on your phone before mysteriously disappearing. You later open the app and are excited to see a book with a hundred chapters, but choose to start with Blades of Light and Shadow instead. As soon as you open the book, you're sucked into its world and find yourself fighting monsters alongside its heroes.
He's likely meant to be Daniel, a character who appears frequently across many different Choices books. For more information on him, click here.

Owlbear
When you land in the world of Morella, you find the party engaged in a fight against an owlbear. You can choose to team up with any member of the party to scare it off. It first appears as "WTH Is That?!"

Tutorial
You are the only one who hears this disembodied voice telling you to choose your first Skills. It then goes silent before returning a moment later to inform you that it just checked with management, and your UI doesn't currently support Skills. When you try to swear in frustration, it also informs you that the book's rating doesn't allow for the use of that particular word.
It pops up again throughout the book, and by Chapter 4 you and the Tutorial have become mutually tired of each other and begun constantly bickering.

Golem
You encounter this temple guardian upon entering the Temple of Ellara. When the party debates how best to proceed, you tell them you'll take care of it. If you charge, the others have to jump in to save you. If you sneak past it, Imtura's depressed you chose the boring option and Mal becomes increasingly suspicious that you're a spy. If you flirt with it, the golem collapses, Imtura can't believe that worked, and Mal insists you all move on without talking about it. Its character model resembles the Stone Creature from It Lives In The Woods.

Elizabeth Floofybottom
She first appears as "Corgi!" She's Maxwell's borrowed entrant in the corgi grand prix, and the primary competition for your loaner corgi Waddleton, apart from his own lack of coordination. She nearly knocks him out of the race when Maxwell directs her to use her special "floof smash" hip-check, but is ultimately defeated when she trips over the other corgis. If you got Waddleton to start running by promising him a playmate, Elizabeth barks with excitement over his victory. Her character model resembles the Lady Corgi from The Royal Heir.

Lord Waddleton
If you choose to participate in the corgi race, Maxwell arranges for the breeder to loan you Waddleton for the event. He's remarkably uncoordinated, and you're either delighted by his awkward perfection or dismayed by his inability to walk straight. You call encouragement and instructions to him throughout the race, which he manages to win largely because all the other corgis trip over each other and go down in a massive pile-up. His character model resembles the Corgi from The Royal Romance.

She reappears later as "Deus Ex Machina" if you're not wearing the premium outfit, and she distracts Astoria from going after you again by pulling her away to take a phone call from the superintendant.

Thing One
It attacks you, Gabe, and Cas after portals transport the four of you to a futuristic anti-gravity bar. You can choose the premium option to fight it with borrowed vampire powers by drinking the blood of Cas, Gabe, or both. If you decide not to drink their blood, you instead play to your own strengths by insulting the creature's appearance. You body-shame it so thoroughly that it curls into a morose ball on the floor, and you urge Gabe and Cas to hurry and take it out while it's self-conscious.
