Relationships

Your Character

You are Louise's older sister. Because you live in a loveless marriage, you don't wish your sister to suffer your fate. Thus, you are determined to make her first season a success, and for her to find happiness by marrying a suitor of her choice.

Louise likes to tease you about your relationship with Nat, especially when she notices you don't speak about your husband as fondly. When you notice that she and Prince Maxwell appear to be fond of each other, you become determined to see her have a marriage out of love unlike your own. Whether she marries him or Lord Shroppington is up to you. After getting engaged to one of them, she turns to you for advice on the physical aspects of marriage. You can teach her yourself or refer her to your mother for such questions.

In Chapter 19, if you decide to confide in Louise and your mother about your intentions to leave your husband and run away with Nat, you will have a short opportunity to watch her marry.

Margaret Valborne

Margaret is her mother. While you are more concerned about how Louise acts and presents herself to society, Margaret doesn't appear to be.

Lawrence Bedford

Lawrence Bedford is Louise's brother-in-law. Although there is no sibling affection, the duke knows enough about society to provide accommodations for her debut season and becomes concerned when you mention Lord Farrow's desire to extort Louise out of her dowry. Because Lord Farrow is a gambler and owes the duke money, the duke uses this as leverage to protect Louise's dowry and extract a marriage proposal from Farrow.

Lord Farrow

Lord Farrow is a widower, who Louise meets during her debut season. He often makes crude and sexually-laced remarks towards her, which you can ignore or confront him about. In Chapter 12, he continues to make these remarks towards Louise. He acts inappropriately towards Louise during the spectacle, which results in you and the other lords and ladies reprimanding his behavior. Later, he corners Louise and attempts to kiss her, and you show up and save her. However, Lady Saunders sees what happened, and says that if Louise doesn't want her reputation to be ruined, she'll have to marry Lord Farrow.

When Lord Farrow hears of this, he seems to begrudgingly accept it, but wants to be paid Louise's dowry and extra money every year for marrying her and saving her reputation.

Prince Maxwell

Prince Maxwell is one of the eligible bachelors who Louise meets during her first season. She marries him in Chapter 19 if you encourage their relationship through premium scenes.

Lord Shroppington

They meet at Louise's first London ball and share a dance. If you don't encourage her to be with Prince Maxwell, he will be the one to propose to her and she will accept.
