Lorelai, a character in The Royal Romance series, is Hana Lee's mother, the wife of Xinghai Lee and a former member of Via Imperii. She is first seen in Book 3, Chapter 14.
Appearance
Lorelai has tanned skin, dark brown hair, and brown eyes. Her hairstyle is in a low bun. She wears gold and dark green gem earrings and a necklace and is in a red long sleeve shirt with a bow.
Personality
As parents, she and her husband are strict but well-meaning. She and Xinghai both have always had high expectations for their daughter which made them enlist Hana for a couple of activities they thought would help her become well-rounded which would help her gain an eligible suitor instead of letting her give a normal childhood with actual friends, toys, and activities Hana actually wanted to pursue at her own pace. Her history with the Via Imperii further shows that Lorelai wants to be part of the elite but not at any price.
Background
In The Royal Finale, Sigrid reveals that Lorelai was once a member of the Via Imperii. When Hana questions her mother about this, Lorelai tells her that she thought the Via Imperii was an elite society that she wanted to be a part of. However, when she learned about the Vox Nostra Academy curriculum and that the society was more dangerous than she previously believed, she quit the Via Imperii.

Relationships
Hana Lee
- "When it comes to wealth, suitors may boast and lie to you... But wine, diamonds, and stock options will always tell the truth."
- —Lorelai to Hana
Hana is her daughter. From Hana's early childhood, Lorelai stressed the importance of learning courtly skills to impress future suitors and find an advantageous match among the eligible men of title and wealth. In The Royal Romance, when Hana stands up for herself and tries to become independent and make her own decisions, Lorelai is livid. In Book 3, Lorelai tells Hana that the latter will be disowned if she does not return to Shanghai and it takes Hana persuading Rashad to talk to her father for Lorelai to step back. Lorelai tries to give Hana space but old habits die hard when she tries to force Hana to play the piano to entertain Adelaide and Godfrey later. However, no matter how Lorelai treats Hana, Hana cannot bring herself to hate her mother or her childhood.
In The Royal Heir, Book 2, Hana thinks back on her youth, remembering what Lorelai had told her in the past. Lorelai was fond of Eleanor but did not bring Hana to court and introduce her to the young princes, Leo and "Liam", because it was a difficult, dangerous time in Cordonia. Hana thinks Lorelai was trying to protect her by keeping her away from Cordonia. In Chapter 16, Hana says because she finished her embroidery lessons early, her parents signed her up for supplementary lessons in knot tying.
Xinghai Lee
Xinghai is her husband. Although you meet him during Liam and Madeleine's engagement tour, you do not see them together until they attend your duchy's Lantern festival.
In The Royal Finale, Chapter 17, Xinghai tells Hana that Lorelai told him about the Via Imperii.
Your Character
She doesn't like you equally if you are with Maxwell, Drake or her daughter, Hana. If you are with King "Liam", she refuses to attend your wedding despite what you say to her. In the end though, like her husband, she will have a change of heart and give you her support and attend your wedding once Hana proves herself to her.
Queen Eleanor
It is unclear if Lorelai knew Eleanor personally, but in The Royal Heir, Book 2, Chapter 5, Hana recalls asking her mother why they could not visit Cordonia when Hana was younger. Lorelai told her that it was uncertain times, although Hana misunderstood and thought her mother meant she didn't learn enough and was not prepared to be introduced to court. Lorelai felt that Eleanor was kind and gentle but knew that others thought the queen was weak. She also thought some of the "old guard" were more interested in expanding their personal wealth than running the kingdom.
