Lewyn, a character in the Immortal Desires series, is a vampire and the leader of the Clement Family. He is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 2. He becomes one of Anastasia's love interests in the non-canonical side-story, Villainous Valentine.

Appearance

Lewyn has short wavy black hair, brown eyes, and light skin with a small beard. He wears a grey checkered shirt, a blue checkered vest with golden buttons, and a blue and white scarf around his neck. He also wears blue suit pants, and a black leather watch on his left arm.

Personality

He is fascinated by human logic and solid arguments impress him. According to Gabe, Lewyn is not the best with technology, despite being your mother's supervisor at the hospital. According to Shiloh, his strategic abilities are what keeps the Clement-Venandi alliance going. On the surface he pretends to care about humans and his fellow vampires, but in Chapter 14 it is proven that this is nothing but a ruse, as he is willing to sacrifice everyone to save his own skin. His plan involved luring all humans to the hospital as bait for the Creator and his minions, while also detonating a bomb with silver, and potentially killing a couple of members of his coven. As such, all these make him selfish, hypocritical, and cruel.

Background

He is the leader of the Clement family. Their coven is considered to be "filthy human worshippers" by the other vampires. According to Clyde, Lewyn is all about order and believes vampires should be respectful towards the humans they live amongst. Lewyn has plenty of human coworkers and doesn't appear to have problems with humans in general.

Relationships

Astoria Yao

Clyde says the only thing keeping the peace between Lewyn and Astoria are the rules they wrote when they first settled in Crimson Beech.

Terri

Lewyn is your mom's supervisor at work whom you are introduced to in the end of Chapter 2. She doesn't know that Lewyn is a vampire, and neither what happened between the two of you. In Chapter 9 she finally discovers the truth after you and her are abducted and taken to the Nexus. There, Lewyn is ready to kill her, until he is interrupted by Nicole who comes bearing the news that a group of Venandi vampires were found dead.

Your Character

You meet Lewyn for the first time in Chapter 2, after you are taken to testify as a witness in regards to what happened with Cas and the human he/she killed in the woods. If you decide to talk more to Clyde, he tells you how you can sway Lewyn to your side. Before you leave the Nexus, he brings up your mother and that you should stop her from investigating the murders further. Unlike Astoria who wants to kill you on the spot, Lewyn is more sensible and gives you a chance to prove yourself first. You are officially introduced to him again through your mother, who tells you that he is her supervisor. When you are attacked by some Venandi vampires during the Autumn Festival and taken to the Nexus for a trial, his demeanour seems to have changed. Lewyn tells you once again to control your mother, otherwise he and Astoria will kill you, proving that in the end, he and Astoria are not that different. In Chapter 9, when you and your mother are taken to the Nexus, Lewyn and Astoria decide to kill you once and for all. However, he is interrupted by Nicole and you are both saved.

Gabe Adalhard

You see Gabe talking to Lewyn near the end of Chapter 4 outside your house. In Chapter 6, he/she reveals that Lewyn sent him/her to spy on you since the incident in the woods. However, Gabe says that the only thing he/she told Lewyn was that you were keeping the end of your deal, and that his/her feelings for you are real.

When Gabe's grandmother sought out the vampires to learn more about them and Astoria captured and tortured her as punishment for the Adalhard ancestors' crimes against the covens, Gabe offered himself/herself in Sarah's place. Lewyn convinced Astoria not to kill Gabe, but instead turn the younger man/woman into a vampire. Gabe doesn't believe Lewyn did it to save him/her but to exact punishment as a fate worse than death. Afterwards, Gabe joined Lewyn's coven.

After the Creator is defeated, Gabe and Cas threaten Lewyn and Astoria to leave you and your mother alone, otherwise they'll tell everyone that Lewyn intended to sacrifice the humans and the members of his own coven to save his own skin.

Powers and Abilities

  • Enhanced Strength: Vampires are stronger than most humans.
  • Enhanced Speed: Vampires can travel faster than humans.
  • Ley Lines: Ley lines are underground sources of energy that vampires can utilize. They give vampires the ability to be resilient to sunlight.
  • Memory Manipulation: As revealed in Book 1, Chapter 16, Astoria and Lewyn performed a sacred ritual to tap into the ley lines, allowing them to swipe and change the memory of all humans of what happened during the Creator's attack. The details of how it works and who else is able to use the power are unknown to normal vampires like Cas and Gabe.

Weaknesses

  • Aversion to Silver: Silver can burn vampires. Several vampire-hunting talismans use silver as a ward against vampires, and specifically prepared silver can paralyze them.
  • Decapitation: Dismembering or manually removing the head of a vampire will result in instant and permanent death.
  • Sunlight: Originally, vampires found sunlight to be debilitating and were greatly weakened under its gaze. This changed when vampires found ley lines of power that nullified this weakness.
  • Ley Lines: While the ley lines nullify the weaknesses vampires have to the sun, this is dependent upon contact with the ley line and if the vampire leaves Crimson Beech, they will swiftly lose this power.
  • Vampire Blood: Vampire blood is poisonous to other vampires. Even a drop or two is enough to make a vampire ill.
  • Bloodlust: When vampires do not regularly feed, they are in danger of turning "feral", unable to reason with or talk to until the thirst for blood is quenched.

  • In Chapter 8, Cas says Lewyn is "stuck in the seventeenth century". If this is not an exagerration or a joke, that makes Lewyn over 300 years old.
  • His crimes include murder and torture.
  • On August 22, 2024, Pixelberry asked again for players's "hear me outs", meaning attractions to monsters and villain antagonists, while giving Gaius Augustine from Bloodbound, the Ash Empress from Blades of Light and Shadow, Jack from The Cursed Heart, Sofia Russo from The Nanny Affair (misspelled as Sophia), Lewyn, and Poppy Min-Sinclair from Queen B as examples for Choices villains.[1]
