Lena, a character in The Royal Heir series, is King "Liam"'s younger sister and a member of Via Imperii. Although she is first seen in The Royal Finale, Chapter 2 in her mercenary form, she makes her official appearance and her name is revealed in Chapter 3.
Appearance
Lena's appearance is dependent on which model is chosen for King "Liam".
Personality
Her personality is cut-throat and focused, although she seems to have a soft spot for children. This is seen in her interactions with your daughter.
Background
When "Liam" was a child, his mother Eleanor went on a long trip shortly before her death. She travelled to Vallenheim and gave birth to Lena, leaving her newborn daughter in the care of Queen Sigrid who raised her.
When Lena was seven years old, Sigrid told Lena that her father was King Constantine of Cordonia, a proud man, and that Eleanor had to run away from him to keep Lena safe. Although Sigrid said she did not wish to speak ill of him, she told Lena that Constantine and her older brothers, Leo and "Liam", did not care whether Lena existed. This point was driven into Lena a year or so later when Constantine visited Vallenheim on a diplomatic visit and Constantine brushed Lena off, not acknowledging her introduction as Sigrid's ward. Sigrid told Lena that the Via Imperii are trying to save the world but the Rys family doesn't care about anyone but themselves.
Lena states when she was old enough, she spent most of her free time learning self-defense. She earned the right to wear her training gear when she was ten years old.

Relationships
Sigrid
When Eleanor gave birth to Lena in a Vallenheim hospital, Sigrid Runarsdottir legally ceded the ward to Cordonia for her birth, making Lena a citizen of Cordonia. Eleanor then left Lena in Sigrid's care, and Sigrid raised Lena as her ward. During Lena's childhood, Sigrid told her that her birthright needed to be kept a secret and that the Via Imperii had big plans for her. Unhappy with her predicament, Lena requested and was granted the ability to train in Captain Silvia's guard and make something of herself.
Lena believes that Sigrid has never lied to her, and had no reason to believe in the concept of a loving Rys family over the word of the woman who raised her. Lena believes Sigrid was doing what Eleanor wanted, and won't listen to you speak ill of her.
In Chapter 16, if you decide to ask Sigrid questions and gain closure, Lena is disgusted when she finds out that Sigrid gave Barthelemy permission to assassinate Eleanor, and also broke her promise to her mother to bring her to Constantine.
Via Imperii
Lena considers the Via Imperii her benefactors. In Chapter 5, she reveals to you that she is "The Fist", one of the five members of "The Circle". In Chapter 9, she states that the Via Imperii raised her to know the truth about the Rys family, the truth that you are too blind to see. If you tell her you are conflicted about the Via Imperii, she hesitates but doesn't admit that she also feels conflicted.
In Chapter 16, when you ask Amalas to let Lena go instead of arresting her alongside the other Via Imperii members, Amalas agrees under the condition that Lena help Interpol in their investigation and case against the Via Imperii.
Eleanor
Although Lena was not raised by Eleanor, Sigrid speaks of Eleanor kindly and fondly. When Sigrid gives Lena toys during her childhood, the former tells the latter that her mother strongly believed that children need to play.
King "Liam"
Lena is Liam's younger sister. Although Liam is interested in developing a relationship with her and "saving" her from the Via Imperii, Lena doesn't appear to reciprocate his feelings. In Chapter 9, she tells you that Liam doesn't deserve Cordonia's throne, and only became king due to birthright, because he was born second and his older brother abdicated. She argues that she has worked to be worthy of that power for her entire life, and a kingdom should choose its ruler based on who is the most worthy. She believes that he is pretending to be nice because he has no choice.
Lena finds Liam irritatingly optimistic and more likable than she thought he would be. She eventually warms up to him after getting to know more about him herself.
Leo
When Lena was seven years old, Sigrid had given her two stuffed animals from her trip to Ismar. Lena named her stuffed bunny after Leo, and her stuffed penguin after Liam, and played with both animals for an entire month before Sigrid told her that the brothers would not welcome her into their family. This point was emphasized when Constantine visited Vallenheim and refused to allow Lena to meet his sons.
Sigrid had told Lena that Leo was a bit of a rascal when she knew him although she had not seen them in years. Later, when Leo abdicated, Lena felt that he gave up his throne on a whim.
Your Character
If you decide to spend more time with Lena during the Children's Day Festival, she is a little bothered by your incessant questions and asks your friends if you're always like this. She tells you that she did not contact Liam earlier because the timing wasn't right for her or for her benefactors.
In Chapter 9, you spend time with Lena in Switzerland when your gondola stalls. She tells you that the Circle has questions for you and due to your incessant behavior, she admits that she believes you are a traitor to the Via Imperii. Everyone in the Circle except Eirik believed the only way to take Cordonia would be to install a new monarch on her throne. She finds it suspicious that you and your friends would join the Via Imperii instead of fight them for Cordonia. If you choose to be benevolent, she thinks your altruism is an act. You convince her that you do what you can for the good of Cordonia. If you choose to be ambitious, she says she sees through your "power-hungry" act. You convince her that your ambition is the reason you rose from waitress to duchess/queen. If you chose Margot to be Auvernal's queen, she believes you did it to get points with the Circle.
When she brings up Leo and Liam, you explain that Leo abdicated because he knew it was right for Cordonia. You also believe Liam is a thoughtful and fair king who has protected his kingdom. If you're Queen of Cordonia, you tell her that you don't believe Liam is that way because you love him. You love him because that is who he is.
Your Daughter
Although Lena doesn't want to answer a million questions from your daughter, Lena is patient and has a soft spot for her. Whenever your daughter wants to play, Lena becomes conflicted between her objectives and your daughter's wishes, especially if Liam is your husband, since she will be the heir's aunt. If you decide to throw a tea party in Monterisso and invent a Cordonian tea party rule about Tea Princesses, Lena purposely loses the race and allows your daughter to win the title.
In Chapter 17, Lena tells you that she talked to Liam and is officially stepping back in the line of succession after your daughter.
Olivia Nevrakis
If you compare her to Olivia Nevrakis, Lena says she learned to fight to achieve her goals, not because of family tradition. Lena doesn't believe she is as soft as Olivia is. In Chapter 12, when Lena is announced to the court as Cordonia's long lost princess, they officially meet. Olivia mentions that she recognizes Lena accompanying King Eirik at the children's festival earlier, and Lena retorts that she doesn't owe Olivia any explanation. Lena angrily feels that Olivia grew up with the royal family and had the childhood Lena was supposed to have. Olivia pointedly states that as long as Lena doesn't endanger her or Cordonia, they will have an understanding. You can try to calm them down or encourage a fight, but either way, they stop conversing and go their separate ways.
Drake Walker
Lena is not impressed by Drake or his attempts at intimidation. They do not interact much unless Drake is your husband. If you decide to throw a tea party in Monterisso, Drake shows her how to make the tiny tea sandwiches into a heftier meal. In Chapter 9, if you bring up "Liam's" friendship with Drake and Maxwell to prove how her brother was when he was a child, she believes both Drake and Maxwell are biased.
Maxwell Beaumont
Lena and Maxwell do not interact much unless Maxwell is your husband. If you decide to throw a tea party in Monterisso, Maxwell shows her how to make the tiny tea sandwiches into a heftier meal. In Chapter 9, if you bring up Liam's friendship with Drake and Maxwell to prove how her brother was when he was a child, she believes both Drake and Maxwell are biased.

Trivia
- The name Lena is of Greek origin and means: Alluring, temptress, light. It's a short version of the name Helena.
- She shares the same name as Lena from A Courtesan of Rome and Lena Ortiz from The Heist: Monaco.
- The surname Rys is of German origin and means: Kingly, royal, noble, mighty, distinguished, powerful, rich, hard, strong, brave, valiant.
- The introduction of her character further complicates or invalidates previously mentioned Cordonian laws of succession. According to Eirik, her claim to the throne surpasses the heir's until the latter is of ruling age. This would make Lena the Princess Regent (similar to Prince Regent George) if King "Liam" is incapacitated or possibly Queen Regent (similar to King/Queen-Regent) if King "Liam" is killed, thus modifying or nullifying the purpose of being engaged or married by the time of Coronation (an "ancient law" according to Regina to combat the Nevrakis claim to the throne) as it diminishes a potential spouse's role as Queen to possibly Queen consort.
- She is a playable character in premium scenes of The Royal Finale, Chapters 4 and 9.
- Young version of face 1 resembles a young version of Main Character from My Two First Loves.
- As 'The Fist', her crimes include treason, blackmail, aiding and abetting, extortion and possibly many more given that she willingly helped the organization with their plans throughout the years and is in charge of the Gladius Company.
- In Chapter 8, she mentions that she founded the Gladius Company. Obtaining her dossier reveals that she is the youngest member of the Via Imperii to serve as 'The Fist'.
- In Chapter 12, Lena will remark that her favorite pastry is baklava. She shares this with her brother "Liam."
- In Chapter 16, regardless of your relationship with Lena, she redeems herself by abandoning Via Imperii and taking your side against Sigrid.
- In Chapter 17, her last name is spelled "Rhys".
