Baby Kraken, a character in The Crown & The Flame series, is a Kraken captured by Hex from the Wolf's mouth. He is first seen as Baby Kraken in Book 2, Chapter 11. If the player decides to rescue him, his mother will fight the Nevrakis soldiers. Val affectionately calls the baby kraken Bubbles.
Appearance
Bubbles has blue/purple skin and large eyes. Unsurprisingly for a baby, his head and mantle are large in comparison to his arms, which are all rather small.
Personality
Bubbles is relatively friendly and affectionate. He was rather timid while captured, but was happy to be rescued, and would often extend his arms out of his jar to grasp the fingers of whatever friendly human was handling it. He also appears to be sensitive. If you choose the diamond option to rescue him, Val returns him to the ocean so he won't be harmed during battle, so he becomes sad and doesn't want to leave. Bubbles is extremely loyal. He'll repay you by convincing his mother to help out in the final battle.

Relationships
Val
As his rescuer, Bubbles grew rather attached to Val in the few days they spent together. She demonstrated a softer side towards him that few others see and checked up on his well-being. She is extremely protective over him; when the group asked her about the kraken in Chapter 12, she became defensive and demanded if anyone had a problem with Bubbles joining them. When Val decided to release Bubbles, as she didn't know what would happen to him in the event the Stormholt forces lost the battle, Bubbles was extremely reluctant to leave. She even promised to visit him and felt bad about saying goodbye--even being about to cry. He made a surprise appearance during the subsequent battle however, having managed to get his mother to join the battle to devastating effect.
Mechawolf Pup
If you managed to recruit both, Bubbles and the wolf share a cutscene together at the castle kitchen at the end of the last chapter, right after the screen fades to black following Kenna's play-spar with Dom. The wolf is very friendly with him, offering him food as well as calling him a "strange dog".

- He makes a cameo in Chapter 15 of The Royal Romance, Book 2 as a necklace that Maxwell wears in his casual look during the gang's outing to Coney Island.
- Val considers him her best friend.
- Bubbles has no skeleton. Val mentions this drunkenly when Dom asked how she managed to fit him inside a bottle with a very thin neck.
- The kraken makes a cameo appearance in Chapter 7 of The Elementalists, Book 1.
