Relationships
Your Character
You first meet Kiara at the opening of Cordonia's social season, the Masquerade Ball. Although you are an outsider to the Court and its politics, you can convince her to become your ally and she will have positive things to say about you throughout Book 1. When you are thrown in a tabloid scandal in Book 2, she remains polite to you as part of Madeleine's ladies-in-waiting but does not risk her relationship with Madeleine to help you.
In Book 3, she is amongst the injured when the Sons of Earth attack the Homecoming Ball. When you visit her at Castelsarreillan, you convince her to come back to Court but another attack during the Costume Gala rattles her nerves. You realize she is going through Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and help talk to her about it with Drake. Encouraged by your words, she returns to Court and visits your duchy during its Lantern Festival. She is part of your Bridal party for you wedding, and in Chapter 17, you have the option of choosing her as your Maid of Honor if Hana is not your love interest. If Hana is your fiancée, Hana will choose Kiara as her Maid of Honor first.
In The Royal Heir, Book 1, when you try to ascertain if she is pregnant, she will tell you that she is busy with Council matters and her career, and has had no time for personal relationships nor romance. If Drake is not your spouse, she will admit to being attracted to him for a time but as he never expressed any interest in her, she did not pursue anything.
At the end of Book 2, she surprises you when she votes against you in the Conventus Nobilis. When you ask her about her vote in Book 3, she explains that she did not agree with your "reactionary" methods in ruling rather than being proactive or preventing crises. If asked, she says that Barthelemy promised her that he would only be your daughter's guardian in name only, and that you and your spouse would still have your daughter and he wouldn't take her away. He appeared to be the "steadier" candidate as his short time on the Royal Council had not raised any alarms. Whether you choose to forgive her or not, she changes her mind by the time the next vote comes around after witnessing Barthelemy's actions at the Beaumont Bash and at your duchy's event.
When Barthelemy is voted to become Crown Regent, she buys you and your spouse some time by objecting and stating that Barthelemy hasn't been officially crowned and it's unclear if he has legal grounds to take the Crown Princess right then and there. In Chapter 17, she tells you that she regrets ever voting for Barthelemy and tells you that she'll do anything to help you. In Chapter 18, if you call for another Conventus Nobilis, she votes for Barthelemy's arrest.
As the country begins to heal, Kiara tells you that she has been on diplomatic missions to improve Cordonia's international relations to make amends for her actions. She lets you know that your allies' faith in you is stronger than ever, including her own.
Drake
In Book 2, it is hinted that she finds Drake attractive. She flirts with him at the barn raising in Applewood and later at Queen Regina's tea party. In Book 3, if Drake is your fiance, she shows a wistful look when being told about the engagement. She is also perceptive to Drake's mood, and can tell that he is happy to be getting married to you and for the wedding. Even though the wedding preparations could be considered tedious, she knows that he is thinking about them a lot. In Chapter 11, if you decide to go to the Nevrakis armory with Maxwell, you overhear Kiara reassuring Drake that she will keep his excitement about the wedding a secret, to preserve his reputation.
In The Royal Heir, Book 1, Chapter 7, if you decide to throw Savannah a slumber party after her bachelorette party, Kiara admits to finding Drake attractive. However, since he showed no interest in her, she did not pursue him.
Savannah
It is revealed in Book 2, Chapter 4, that Kiara was teaching Savannah French, much to Drake's surprise. It is also further revealed that the two were friendly with one another at court. When Savannah returns and meets up with you and your bridal party in Book 3, Chapter 17, Kiara tells Savannah if anyone gives her a hard time, to let her know.
Hakim & Joelle
Hakim and Joelle are Kiara's parents. They are the Duke and Duchess of Castelsarreillan. In Book 3, Chapter 22, when Ezekiel decides to abdicate and become a veterinarian, Hakim appoints Kiara as the next in line of succession to Castelsarreillan.
Ezekiel Theron
Ezekiel is Kiara's older brother. He tells you and your friends that when she was five years old, she was already drafting trade treaties with him over their toys.
Penelope Ebrim
Penelope is Kiara's best friend at court. In The Royal Heir, Book 3, Penelope mentions that Kiara is one of her bridesmaids. In The Royal Finale, Chapter 15, if you decide to have a compliment circle in the conservatory, Penelope tells Kiara that the latter is the most sophisticated person she knows.
