- — Kamilah Sayeed to MC[1]
Kamilah Sayeed, a character in the Bloodbound series, is the CEO of Ahmanet Financial, the leader of Clan Sayeed, and also once a Vampire Queen. She is one of Your Character's love interests. She is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 1.
Appearance
She has light brown skin, straight brown hair, and brown eyes that turn red as a vampire. She wears a mauve jacket over a white shirt, mauve pants, and an Egyptian style necklace.
Personality
According to Adrian, warmth isn't Kamilah's forte. Despite that, Kamilah is described as calm and disciplined. This is shown when Lily was turned into a vampire, she is shown to take her in as a disciple to train her in her new environment. Kamilah is also someone without a temper. This is due to years of fighting caused her to be stern and stoic to the point that she threatened the MC if anything happened to Adrian, she will then hurt her. In Book 2, Kamilah is brave and courageous yet very intelligent. She is willing to shield Your Character when Priya attacked her. Kamilah has a habit of calling younger vampires or people "children" when they lose focus or get out of line.
StoryLoom Description
"Stern and stoic, Kamilah is Adrian’s closest friend and confidant. While warmth may not be Kamilah’s forte, she grows to care about Amy and goes out of her way to care for Lily when she is first turned."[2]
Background
Kamilah is the twin sister to Lysimachus and the cousin to Cleopatra. With her mother dying at a young age and her father going to war, she and her brother raised each other. At some point in her life, she became a nomarch, a governor of sorts, to Cleopatra (which was the highest honor and privilege a woman could get). When Egypt was at war, her brother wanted to fight back. Before she was turned, she remembered how her uncle gave his nephew a wooden horse which Lysimachus treasured dearly and would not allow Kamilah to see or play with it which caused her to steal it from him and vice versa. When he went to war, he later gave it to Kamilah as a promise to come back. It is not known what happened to him but it is presumed that he died before Kamilah was Turned. Kamilah kept the toy ever since.
Kamilah is the oldest member of the council. She was turned into a Vampire during the war between Ptolemaic Egypt and Rome. As the Romans were about to win, Kamilah and her servants and warriors refused to surrender. Her men captured and presented her with an injured Roman soldier (revealed to be Gaius Augustine). Despite being captive, Gaius seemed calm. He later revealed his true self and easily overwhelmed Kamilah's guards. Kamilah's attempt to fight back proved to be futile as Gaius' wounds healed itself. Gaius, impressed with her beauty and potential, declared that although he planned to kill her, he changed his mind and instead was going to give her a gift. His fangs appear, his eyes turn red. He calls her "my queen" before attacking her; presumably draining her human blood and turning her into a vampire.
Gaius and Kamilah moved often as soon the townsfolk figure out their true nature. First, they moved from Egypt to Damascus, Syria (mentioned in a flashback Chapter 8). Although not shown in detail, they ended up in Western Europe where Gaius Turned a couple of new vampires, Marcel Lafayette, a French noble and Banner Westbrook, a soldier. She lived in Italy during a portion of the Renaissance period. There, she killed a Vampire Hunter called the Wolf of Venice after he killed her lover. In the mid 18th Century, Gaius and his group of vampires emigrated to the state of New York, in the newly founded United States where he made a pact with the state's leaders to let them form a secret vampire kingdom relatively undisturbed.

Relationships
Adrian Raines
In Book 1, Chapter 1, Adrian gifts Kamilah a 2,100-year-old Egyptian scarab made during the time of the Ptolemaic Dynasty. They are shown to have a healthy professional relationship. In Book 1, Chapter 2, it is revealed that she alongside him, Lester, and Priya are part of The Council in New York. Kamilah first met Adrian after he was Turned 234 years ago. They are very close friends and Adrian reminds Kamilah of her twin brother, Lysimachus.
Adam Vega
Kamilah and Vega met in the 1500s, since they were both Turned by Gaius. They served together in The Council of New York Vampires. In Book 1, Chapter 6, when talking to Adrian and your character about their previous meeting with Adam, she refers to him as "our illustrious Senator" which could have been a sarcastic remark.
Lester Castellanos
She serves alongside him in The Council of New York Vampires, although they do butt heads sometimes, such as when Kamilah scolded Lester for his unwanted advances on Your Character.
Priya Lacroix
She serves alongside Priya in The Council. Not much is known about how they interact. When Kamilah met Priya in the 1920s, she seemed to not think highly of her, asking: "Does she actually speak English, or does she just string random words together?" Her dislike for Priya seemed to grow within the years, calling her a "monster" and complaining about having to clean up after her whenever she breaks the rules. When Priya betrayed the Council, she was very angry and vowed that she will get Priya for it. She reveals that she had been wanting to kill Priya ever since she met her, and can do so with the help of You Character in a later diamond scene.
Your Character
She is one of your potential love interests. In Book 1, Chapter 1, Kamilah is impressed with your character when Your Character also reveals that the scarab that Adrian gifted her is also a symbol of rebirth. In addition, Kamilah defends Your Character alongside Adrian when Lester acts inappropriately towards her.
Lily Spencer
Upon her being turned into a vampire, she takes Lily under her wing and while Adrian is busy trying to get the other two votes to keep Lily alive; she trains her. It appears that she has taken a liking to her.
Jax Matsuo
They are somewhat antagonistic at first as she is a Clan vampire and he is the leader of the Clanless. However, in Book 1, Chapter 13 they come to a mutually beneficial agreement. Later in Book 1, Chapter 15, they fight alongside each other against the ferals. In Book 1, Chapter 16, Jax later becomes a member of the Council and are seen as colleagues.
Gaius Augustine
Kamilah was Gaius's Queen and former lover. He Turned her over two millenia ago[3], and they loved each other, but that love blinded her to the darkness inside of him and what he was truly capable of. The love also blinded her to the darkness inside of herself. They did terrible things together in Argos, in Versailles, in Pompeii[4]; and he is the only vampire that Kamilah fears. Gaius had relationships with most of his proteges, although his feelings for Rheya, Kamilah, and Adrian were the strongest.[5]
If Your Character is Kamilah's love interest, she states that everything between her and Gaius is broken after he kills you in front of her.
Serafine Dupont
A premium scene of Book 2, Chapter 14, reveals that they had a short but intense fling a long time ago.
Lysimachus
Lysimachus is Kamilah's twin brother and her favorite brother. When their parents died, they became very close. Lysimachus was gifted a wooden horse which Lysimachus treasured dearly and would not allow Kamilah to see or play with it which caused her to steal it from him and vice versa. When he went to war, he later gave it to Kamilah as a promise to come back. It was later revealed that in Bloodbound Origins that he died fighting their cousin's war with Octavian which left Kamilah devastated and ruling Egypt as queen. Kamilah thought of her brother fondly even after she was Turned into a vampire. She becomes angry and uncomfortable when someone either talks ill of him or uses his memory wrongfully.
Cleopatra and Marc Antony
Cleopatra is Kamilah's cousin. Marc Antony is Cleopatra's lover. When Cleopatra wanted to destroy the Romans, Kamilah tried to give counsel to her cousin. When Cleopatra refused to listen to her counsel which resulted in her brother's death, she refused to give further aid to Cleopatra. Her relationship with Marc Antony was hostile and resentful. She described Marc Antony as not impressive as "he would go to someone who can give him glory and power" not realizing the depth of the folly despite him being married.
Powers and Abilities
- Immortality: In Book 1, Chapter 2, Adrian confirms that he does not age. Thus we can assume the same can be said for Kamilah. She is likely one of the oldest vampires given that she is over 2000 years old.
- Super-Strength: In Book 1, Chapter 2, Adrian confirms that he is strong enough to lift a car. Thus we can assume the same can be said for Kamilah.
- Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: As mentioned on loading screens across the whole series, vampires possess increased speed and reflexes.
- Healing Factor: Accelerated healing is an ability that vampires possess that allows them to heal from physical injuries at supernatural speeds. If a vampire uses their blood such as when Adrian was done feeding on Nicole, they can heal the bite mark as well. Thus we can assume the same can be said for Kamilah.
- Heightened Senses: In Book 1, Chapter 6, Lily mentions how she feels the slightest air currents, how she can even see the tiniest pores in Your Character's skin and can hear the water running through the pipes three stories up. Taste is also amplified as mentioned in Book 3, Chapter 1: good things tend to taste better and bad things tend to taste foul. Thus we can assume the same can be said for Kamilah.
- Enhanced Knifeship: Kamilah is very skilled with her twin daggers. She is able to decapitate numerous ferals swiftly and gracefully.
- Battle Hardened: Due to her age, she has had a lot of combat experience. This makes her an important ally and a formidable enemy. As shown in Chapter 16, the Council was only able to subdue Gaius due to her intervention. When she was held captive by Clanless in Chapter 13, she threatened them that she could have killed them all instantly if she wanted to fight.
Weaknesses
- Sunlight: Sunlight is one of vampires' weaknesses. As Adrian stated, sunlight does hurt him and can prove fatal after more than thirty minutes of exposure. It's akin to hypersensitivity; overexposure causes, as Adrian describes it, an accelerated heat stroke. This same weakness can be assumed for Kamilah.
- Decapitation: Dismembering or manually removing the head of a vampire will result in instant and permanent death.
- Heart Extraction: Removing and subsequently destroying the heart of a vampire will also result in permanent death.
- Unquenched Bloodlust: When Adrian first became a vampire, he felt the powerful thirst for blood which no amount of water can relieve. In the brief period where he resisted the urge, Adrian experienced severe discomfort whereby he eventually gave in to his instincts. It is unknown yet how long a vampire can remain thirsty or what the extent of pain is when this need is unmet. When vampires don't consume blood for extended periods of time, they tend to give in to their instincts and attack the nearest human nearby in order to suppress their thirst. Newly Turned Vampires like Lily are the ones most affected by this problem.
- A Feral's Bite: A bite from a feral vampire is infectious to regular vampires because it can turn them feral too.

Trivia
- She resembles Natara Williams, a protagonist from Cause of Death.[6]
- She also resembles Egypt model Zayneb Azzam.
- In Egyptian, the meaning of the name Kamilah is perfection.
- It was confirmed in Book 1, Chapter 5, that she is of Egyptian descent as Cleopatra is her cousin and she was a nomarch (essentially a governor of a province) in Egypt in her "earlier" years.
- The surname Sayeed is of Arabic origin and means: Mister, master, lord, general, commander, a descendant of the prophet Islamic Muhammad. It derives from the name Sayyid, a variant is Syed.
- Her surname is also a variation of Sa'id.
- In Book 1, Chapter 2, Adrian mentions that garlic gives him a minor distaste, rather than kill him. This, in turn, means that it is not a real weakness for vampires as a whole and we can assume Kamilah has a similar distaste for it.
- In an interview done by Pixelberry, she is said to be one of the oldest and most formidable vampires in the world. [7]
- It was confirmed in Book 1, Chapter 12, that she is the oldest vampire in the United States of America.
- She and Adrian both have the brand of Gaius's symbol. Hers is located on her hip.
- There is a discrepancy in her age and the timing of events around her Turning. She mentioned her twin brother, Lysimachus, who lived around 35 BCE wanting to stand and fight against Octavian's forces. He was her advisor when she was nomarch. In the premium scene of her Turning, she mentions Marc Antony and Cleopatra's forces losing against Octavian's forces. However, she states she is 2063 years old, which would make her 10 years old in 35 BCE or push the events to 15 BCE.
- There is also a discrepancy on the number of brothers she had. In an early chapter, she mentions that Adrian reminds her of her favorite brother. "Favorite" usually refers to more than one brother. However, in later chapters, she only talks about her twin brother.
- In Book 1, Chapter 9's premium scene, she mentioned she was obsessed with botany at one point in her life and could identify any plant anywhere in the world.
- In Book 3's bonus scene, it is revealed that she has 'retired from the public eye' to take time for herself, and has taken up gardening as a hobby.

- Kamilah did NOT have children before she was Turned by Gaius.
- She is shown on the cover of Bloodblound, Book 2 and Bloodbound Origins.
- It is revealed in Book 2, Chapter 3, that she doesn't know what Cocoa Puffs are.
- In Book 2, Chapter 10, she mentions she has an office in every major city.
- When pressed about eating "junk" food, Kamilah remarked that she delighted in eating date and fig-based desserts.
- In a premium scene in Book 3, Chapter 5, it is mentioned that she donated most of the artifacts in the Egyptian Hall of the Metropolitan museum.
- She is included in the "nobility" category due to her past (Human life) affiliation.
- In Book 3, Chapter 13 premium choice, when playing "Never had I ever", it is stated that she once had sex with Catherine the Great.

Memorable Quotes
If you didn't romance her: Gaius: Is this really what it's come to? You hate me so much you're ready to die for it? Are you really ready to kill me, my Queen? Kamilah: My name... is... Kamilah! Gaius: ...So be it. If you romanced her: Gaius: Is this really what it's come to? You hate me so much you're ready to die for it? Are you really ready to kill me? Kamilah: Yes. Gaius: And what of our love? Our history? Our centuries together? Kamilah: You manipulated me. You used me. You played into my anger, my bloodlust, my fury, and used those to turn me into your dark mirror. You made me into my worst self. But I'm done with that. I'm done with you. I'm ready to be free. Gaius: My Queen! Kamilah: No. Not anymore. (Looking at MC) ...I'm her Queen. And she's mine. Gaius: ...Then you leave me no choice. |
Kamilah: Pain is the price of love. We agree to pay it whenever we open our hearts. Every hello comes with the knowledge that one day there will be a goodbye. Every first kiss comes with the certainty that there will one day be a last. And yet even though we knew all love ends in sorrow... even though we know that price... we pay it. We pay it again and again and again. We pay it because it makes life worth living. We pay it because love... love is always worth it. |
