Relationships

Channing Lowe

Your Character

The two of you initially have an antagonistic relationship with her acting rude towards you multiple times, even once abandoning you in the woods, putting you in danger. In Book 1, Chapter 7, she starts to act softer towards you and admits that she doesn't hate you, but feels you're still an outside and you're only putting yourself in danger getting involved with the Pack.

In Book 1, Chapter 18, when Kala is close to dying from liquid silver poisoning, you dreamwalk into Kala's mind to figure out who is behind her poisoning. You can then explore her memories of you in a premium scene which will reveal that she worried about you. She says you two could have become friends if Kala had more time to which you can reply that you are already friends.

Powers and Abilities

After becoming a full werewolf in Book 1, Chapter 16, Kala gains additional werewolf powers:

  • Shapeshifting: Kala can intentionally or accidentally transform into a wolf and back at any time, although it takes time for her to gain full control of when to transform as the first transformation doesn't last long.
  • Superhuman Healing: Channing states that she/he is able to heal faster than humans after being wounded during the brawl.
  • Cold Immunity/Body Warmth: Werewolf blood runs hot which is why they usually spar naked. If werewolves wear underwear or normal clothes, it's out of courtesy. In Book 1, Chapter 10, you have to wear warm clothes for the summit or you will freeze if you decline them. Channing and all other wolves are more protected against the cold by their werewolf blood.
  • Scent Tracking: Werewolves can track the scent of various animals or humans. This includes recognizing the scent of feral wolves.
  • Lucid Dreaming: Werewolves can lucid dream and see the future in their dreams. If a werewolf lucid dreams, they can control how the dream unfolds, and there are no rules and limitations that forbid them from acting on their desires.
  • Dream Walking: Werewolves can dreamwalk into the minds of other werewolves.
  • Superhuman Strength: Werewolves are stronger than humans. In Book 1, Chapter 18, you can choose to punch a boulder which will leave a fist-sized crater in it. Kala can be seen breaking a tree in werewolf form in Book 1, Chapter 18.

Weaknesses

After becoming a full werewolf in Book 1, Chapter 16, Kala also gains their weaknesses.

  • Silver and Wolfsbane: Both can be lethal to werewolves. Already touching silver hurts as it burns the skin.
  • Feral: Each wolf has a risk of going feral. This means they lose their humanity and turn into a beast that needs to be put down as they would be a danger to themselves and others.
  • Smoke Bomb: In Book 1, Chapter 12, Channing tells you that the Hunter's smoke bomb temporarily ruined his/her sense of smell so she/he doesn't know where you are going.
  • Ultrasonic Whistle: In Book 1, Chapter 19, Markus uses an ultrasonic whistle to put you in a state of confusion and pain. Channing tells you that if you don't change from your wolf body to your human body, you would go deaf.

Trivia

  • In Chapter 13, Kala mentions her grandmother Neha, whom she calls "nani." Given that this is a Hindi term for maternal grandmothers, and that Neha is a common feminine name in India, it seems likely that Kala is of Indian descent.
