John Brigham, a character in the Crimes of Passion series, is the Mayor of New York. He is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 4.
Appearance
Mayor Brigham has short cropped black hair, black eyes and dark skin. He wears a blue stripped suit, a white shirt with a red tie, and a golden lapel badge.
Personality
Based on his behaviour and actions, Mayor Brigham can be considered sleazy and selfish. He cares more about his reputation and image than getting a serial killer off the streets. He later tells you that he used to get guff for not giving donors the time of day and originally prided himself on being against corruption.

Relationships
Your Character
If you dance with Trystan, you overhear that he was by his wife's side the entire night when Sonja was murdered. Trystan guesses that Sonja had the mayor's office number because she did a painting for the City Hall a while ago. If you go for a walk with Olivia in Chapter 5, she asks you your opinion about him, to which you can respond that the guy drips sleaze and that she should steer clear from him.
You meet him personally in Chapter 11 after you're arrested. He considers you and Trystan "the dogs who crapped on his rug", and wants you off the case because according to him, you made a media shitstorm that will take months to clean up. He doesn't back off, even when Mafalda tries to defend you.
If you decide to have Trystan out his affair with Bethany, he'll hold a grudge against you due to ruining his reputation.
Bethany Delgado
He and Bethany had an affair. When you try to use the bathroom during the Iverson Ball, you hear a commotion, and Ruby tells you that she'd recognise that baritone voice anywhere, which means that Bethany and Mayor Brigham were getting hot and heavy in there.
Trystan Thorne
Trystan and Brigham get into a fight when he asks you to drop the Dormer case. Trystan then says that he/she will have to contribute to his campaign seeing as he doesn't arrest donors, but when that doesn't seem to diffuse the situation, Trystan decides to speak to the press and tell them everything. You have the chance to either wish him/her good luck, or tell him/her to not do this.
Rhonda Brigham
Rhonda Brigham is John's wife. She seems to know about his affair with Bethany, and if you dance with Trystan, you both notice that she's angry because he can't keep it in his pants even during the biggest event of the year. She also says that if she wasn't glued to his arm the whole night during the party at the Calloway Museum, he'd snuck off with Bethany, and she's worried about him risking his reelection.
Maria Thompson
Not much is known about their relationship, but it is clear that they have similar goals, as they both want to keep you off the Dormer case and let the police handle it. This is most likely due to the fact that Brigham had an affair with Bethany, which means that they want to cover things up.
