Isobel, a character is the Wolf Bride book, is a citizen in West Virginia and one of the werewolves. She is first seen in Chapter 1.
Appearance
Isobel has brown eyes, straight long black hair, and tanned skin. She wears a leather brown cropped top, two gray furry bracelets on each arm, and green pants with a beige cloth around her waist. In her wolf and primal form, Isobel has gray fur and gray eyes.
Personality
Isobel can be described as full of jealousy, aggressive, and at times, deceiving and manipulative. If you gain her respect however, she shows a more friendly side and is less hostile towards you. She also despises hunters, and has no hesitation in hurting them or taking revenge on those who pollute the earth. According to Alpha Werewolf, Isobel is one of the toughest people of the Pack.
Background
Isobel was born through a werewolf father and a wolf-kin mother. While not much is known about her childhood, Isobel says that her mother abandoned them because she was weak and couldn't handle the pressure of living with the Pack. Isobel talks about her mother with resentment, which could potentially explain her distaste towards humans and wolf-kin.

Relationships
Your Character
Isobel is your rival for Alpha Werewolf's affections. Even if you tell her that you are not interested in him, she doesn't believe you but is sarcastic, telling you that you should believe that as that will lessen the pain of rejection. After your first night at the Den, she tells you that Alpha will never see you anything more than a "brood mare" and also insults Layla and Callum. In Chapter 3, if you attend the healing ceremony, you can try to apologize for arguing with her, which surprises her, but she still tells you to stay out of her way.
In Chapter 4, if you side with Werewolf Hunter against her, Isobel distrusts you. If you side with Isobel against Hunter, Isobel begins to warm up to you. In Chapter 13, Isobel challenges you to fight her one-on-one. If you accept, you earn her respect. You also start to understand each other more, as she never thought that her wolfkin mother would have been distressed in giving her to the pack.
Alpha Werewolf
When Alpha overhears Isobel insult you, he tells her to apologize to you and she does as he orders. However, he also tells you not to argue with her because she is one of the Pack's best hunters and high-ranking in their hierarchy. When you talk to her, you find out that she and Alpha are exes, even though the Pack doesn't use that terminology. This infers they were lovers but because werewolves cannot breed with one another and have children, they no longer have an intimate relationship. She, however, feels that she has a true connection with him because she is one of his kind and once he is tired of you, he will return to her. She feels he deserves someone worthy of him, and that she is that person.
Jett
In the beginning, Isobel like Jett does not have a high regard for humans or wolf-kin. She whispers in Jett's ear, encouraging him to challenge Alpha for leadership of the pack as well as feeding into his displeasure of your presence there. In Chapter 12, they become intimate during the celebration but there appears to be no emotional attachment. If you gain her respect, she has a change of heart and sides with you and Alpha, causing Jett to call her a "snake". However, when Jett wins his second challenge and becomes Alpha, she opts to stay with him and the pack instead of being exiled.
Powers and Abilities
- Therianthropy[1]: the ability to metamorphose into other animals by means of shapeshifting. These werewolves can transform themselves from human to werewolf and to wolf.
- Werewolf Physiology: the power to use the abilities of a werewolf. This includes:
- Enhanced Body: Even in human form, werewolves can heal more quickly than humans.
- Enhanced Agility
- Enhanced Durability
- Enhanced Endurance
- Enhanced Reflexes
- Enhanced Senses: Their senses are heightened by Primal magic.
- Night Vision: Even in human form, werewolves can see in the dark with perfect clarity.
- Enhanced Speed: They are faster than most humans, due to their ties to Primal magic.
- Enhanced Stamina
- Enhanced Strength: They are stronger than most humans, due to their ties to Primal magic.
Weaknesses
- Silver: During a full moon, silver is the only thing that can harm werewolves. During non-full-moon times, bullets would hurt werewolves just as much as they would hurt humans; however, werewolf physiology would allow them to heal faster.
- "Werewolf Hunter"'s / Knights of Ossory's Chemical Weapons: The chemicals that Werewolf Hunter uses in her experiments to "cure" werewolves are toxic to them and poison their psychic connection to the Primal Magic. To fight off the toxins, the infected werewolves need to physically reconnect with Primal Magic.
- Full Moon: On a full moon, all werewolves turn Primal, losing the abilities to speak, understand speech, and reason. They act on instinct alone and as Werewolf Hunter puts it, kill anything. As demonstrated in Chapter 7, they attack humans and wolf-kin alike, putting Layla who is at the time pregnant with a werewolf in danger. The only werewolf mentioned to be able to temporarily fight against it is Alpha Werewolf when he turns against his pack when they attack the town.
- Werewolves born during a full moon usually don't survive or if they do, have disabilities such as blindness.
