- Pixelberry first began teasing a surprise story on February 3, 2025.[1]
- The book's title first appeared in the app store's update notes on February 6, 2025. It was confirmed later that same day in the February Insiders to be the surprise story PB had been teasing.[4]
- On February 7, 2025, the release date was revealed in-app to be February 14, 2025.
- On February 11, 2025, PB posted a sneak peek of the book.[5]
- On February 12, 2025, PB posted sneak peeks of the protagonist.[6]
- On February 13, 2025, PB posted a sneak peek of the love interest.[7]
- On February 14, 2025, PB confirmed that this book was made in collaboration with Thoren Bradley.[8]
- Thoren Bradley also posted an Instagram story talking about the book.[9] He described its format for anyone who was unfamiliar with visual novels and linked to his Pinpoint, which has a section dedicated to the game.[10] He explained that many of his followers have asked him to get involved with the romance novel side of content creation, leading him to personally work on Into the Woods, which he found difficult to keep quiet about during production.
