Welcome to the Inheritance Theory Page. This is a place where you can discuss confirmed, debunked, and unconfirmed theories from the Inheritance series.
Current & Unconfirmed Theories
- Company Mole(s): It's theorized that someone within Vitality is responsible for the cyber attacks on the company, as Rachel Stokes explains in Chapter 2 that she was given evidence to expose Charles Leavitt's illegal use of customer data by a mysterious person who seemed to have insider information. Since the revelation of this info implicates Vitality in Charles's crimes, and the plot revolves around the competition for CEO, a potential mole may be trying to make the current leadership look so bad that a less-obvious candidate would seem like a better alternative.
- It's also possible any insider(s) may be working with your siblings, as Dante is seen conspiring with a vaguely-familiar man in a Chapter 5 premium scene, and you hear Sabrina speaking to an apparent accomplice in Chapter 13.
- James: Considering that James has played such a small role in the story despite holding a position of power within the company and being eligible to become CEO himself, it's thought he may emerge as a significant enemy before the end of the book.
- Trey: Some have wondered if Trey isn't entirely trustworthy. As the child of a Vitality co-founder, he/she is just as eligible to become CEO as any of Theodore's kids, yet you've only had the option to consider his/her potential as your competition during a premium scene in Chapter 1, which could be a misdirect. He/She is often seen holding clandestine phone conversations, and you have only his/her word those calls are related to his/her personal company. If Trey has been secretly working against you, his/her status as a love interest makes it possible he/she may be won back to your side rather than being a locked-in enemy.
- Sabrina's Father: With the Chapter 14 revelation that Theodore isn't Sabrina's biological father, some have wondered if she's the result of an affair between Elizabeth and James.
Confirmed Theories
- Elizabeth: Due to how common the wicked stepmother trope is, it is believed that Elizabeth will be one, and possibly the big bad of the story. The wicked-stepmother aspect is confirmed in Chapter 8, when it is revealed that she planned the accident that killed your mother.
Debunked Theories
- Gender: Part of the players who theorize that there will be a plot similarity to Rules of Engagement believe this book will have a genderlocked main protagonist. Choices Insiders November 2024 debunked this when it is revealed that the main protagonist will be gender of choice.
- Genre: Because of the title and the picture of a limousine used in the announcement, some players believe if will be a modern day story similar to Rules of Engagement in which the main protagonist will have to perform a task to earn an inheritance. This is debunked, as the story revolves around the protagonist's bitter competition against their siblings to become CEO of their father's company.
