Hockey Star, a character in the Hot Shot series, is the captain of the Seattle Blades and your love interest. He/She is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 1.
Appearance
His/Her gender and looks are determined by the player. The full hockey gear is exactly the same for both genders, kept in different shades of red, with a skate featured on the top, and is combined with white gloves. The casual outfit for both genders consists of black jeans and a red flannel shirt. Male Hockey Star combines the outfit with a white shirt, a belt, and a dark blue jeans jacket, while female Hockey Star wears a white crop top. Both genders wear at least one necklace.
Personality
Hockey Star is hot tempered and tends to fight with his/her fists rather than his/her words but you can point out in Chapter 4 that all of his/her fighting seems to mask something deeper. Throughout the first half of the book, he/she is also called arrogant and cocky. If you call Hockey Star bossy, he/she will state he/she is just direct. Despite that, he/she is loyal to the team and is quick to defend them, showing his/her protective streak. Like you, Hockey Star has a competitive side and you two regularly challenge each other to a competition. In Chapter 9, you can compare him/her to a cozy cup cocoa, stating he/she is smooth and spicy, and also bounces back easily. He/She is also passionate about hockey and good with children, having coached children before.
Background
Hockey Star is from Portland. He/She has played with the Seattle Blades for his/her entire career and has no intention of ever changing teams. This led to more problems with his/her father who expected him/her to sign with the Portland Bears. According to you, he/she is the best center forward in the league and the greatest goal-scorer of your generation, with six hundred goals and counting.

Relationships
Your Character
He/she does not trust you due to bad experiences with past reporters. Over time, you can get him/her to trust you more in order to help with your career and to better his/her public image. As the story progresses, the two are more and more drawn to each other and finally kiss. Hockey Star and you both have a competitive side and you regularly challenge each other to a competition. A relationship between the two of you would endanger your job and therefore has to be kept secret. When a paparazzo snaps a photo of you two kissing, Hockey Star breaks the camera to destroy the evidence.
Brent Lowell
Brent and Hockey Star are teammates but also rivals, with Brent striving for Hockey Star's position. Brent's behavior towards you in the club results in an argument between the two which spirals out of control when Brent drunkenly keeps provoking him/her by bringing up Hockey Star's past. This results in Hockey Star punching Brent in front of bystanders and the video going viral. When Hockey Star gets suspended after being ejected from a match for his/her behavior towards a rival player, Coach Rojas publicly declares to give Hockey Star's position as first-line center to Brent. Hockey Star offers to help you find some dirt on Brent to placate the paparazzo. If you decline, you say it's because you don't want to risk Hockey Star being suspended again for messing with a teammate.
