- On January 23, 2019, Pixelberry released a poll through their official Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts to vote on the cover of Book 2.[2]

- On January 25, 2019, it was revealed that after polls closed on PB's Facebook account, that Skye won the players' vote with 61% and on Twitter with 70%.[5]

- The writers also have many fun dates planned, which includes trips to the Arcade, robot battles and even hanging out inside an igloo!
- Players will also be meeting a few new faces! Some will be friends, and others will be foes.
- Some beloved characters from the original High School Story trilogy will also be playing a role in this year's presidential race, so stay tuned!
- Rachel Z for her part said that the focus this time is on deepening the friendships and relationships you established in book one. But you might run into conflict with a couple people you didn't expect!

- On February 11, 2019, it was revealed that a glitch involving Your Character from High School Story was being experienced by players during Chapter 1. PB revealed they were aware of it and were trying to get fixed ASAP.[12]
- On March 1, 2019, PB released a sneak peek for Chapter 4.[13]
- On May 17, 2019, PB released a sneak peek for Chapter 15, and also revealed that it will be the final chapter in this book. [14]
- On July 19, 2019, Laura Shigihara who sang the theme song First Day for all the High School Story books and the High School Story app, sang it live.[15]
Trivia
- A second book was confirmed for the soft reboot series at the end of Book 1, Chapter 15.
- In the flash-forward scene featured upon completing Book 1, it is confirmed that MC and his/her love interest (i.e. Rory Silva, Skye Crandall or Ajay Bhandari) are dating.
- One of the major plot points for the second book seems to be elections for class president.
- Chapter 4 shares the same title as Rules of Engagement, Book 3, Chapter 2, "Piece of Cake".
- The title of Chapter 5 is a reference to The Three Musketeers.
- In the same chapter, if you say that flash mobs are fun, Rory will mention that the Les Mis (short for Les Misérables) one in the mall is his/her favorite.
- In Chapter 13, Your Character can make a reference to the movie Robocop when talking to Graham: if you choose to tell him to name the plant he is holding, s/he suggests the name RoboCrop.
- In Chapter 14, Skye makes a reference to the Canadian TV show Property Brothers.
