Trivia
- On January 25, 2023, PB released a "Which Getaway Girl Are You?" on BuzzFeed.[25]
- Between them, the four main characters can cover all four major sexualities. The main character is implicitly bisexual, since both her ex and current love interest can be customized as male or female, Anita is a lesbian, since her only love interest is female, Dee Dee is straight, since her only love interest is male, and Maia is aromantic and asexual (and, as such, she doesn't have a love interest).
- The book takes place over the course of three weeks.
- The colour of the chapter title reflects which main character you will play when the chapter begins. Green for the main character, blue for Anita, red for Dee Dee and purple for Maia.
- Chapter 10 shares the same title as Perfect Match, Book 2, Chapter 15 and The Unexpected Heiress, Chapter 15, "Reckoning".
- Chapter 12 shares the same title as Rules of Engagement, Book 2, Chapter 5, America's Most Eligible: Wedding Edition, Chapter 7, My Two First Loves, Chapter 9, and Queen B, Book 2, Chapter 7, "Trouble in Paradise".
- On December 19, 2023, Storyloom released the second chapter of Choices Secrets Revealed! In it, Director of Writing Chelsa explained that one of the earliest versions of Getaway Girls was set in New Orleans, where her family's from, and the LI was a jazz musician. She also revealed that at one point a male cousin was part of the group, but they ended up wanting to keep the story focused on a very specific viewpoint and had to cut the character.[26]
