Gabe, a character in the Immortal Desires series, is the Senior Class President of Crimson Beech High, and one of your love interests. He/She is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 1.
Appearance
Gabe's gender and looks are determined by the player.
The male version wears an orange pinstriped button down, that is tucked in with the sleeves rolled up. He wears blue trousers with a brown belt. On his left wrist he has two bracelets and a silver watch, along with a silver ring on his pointer finger.
The female version wears a ruffled, red blouse with polka dots that bares her midriff. She has two necklaces and a gold bracelet on her left wrist. She wears faded blue jeans with a black belt with two circles for the buckle.
Personality
Gabe is very popular, out-going, friendly, and sweet, and can be considered very protective. This can be seen from how he/she vows to protect you by teaching you self-defense and giving you things such as the Talisman and the silver key in order for you to defend yourself against vampires. Gabe is also not afraid to stand up to Cas.
Gabe feels that vampires aren't natural and that there has to be another way of living that doesn't involve being a freak of nature. The Venandis feel Gabe does not accept who he/she is and believe that spending time with you will change him/her.
According to Cas, Gabe is very noble and upright. Cas feels Gabe is self-loathing and self-righteous. Cas also calls Gabe a book nerd because of how much time Gabe spends reading books, especially about vampire history. Gabe's alias Wikipedia Jones stems from his/her ability to recall the things he/she learnt from them.
Background
Gabe is descended from the original inhabitants of Crimson Beech, as well as the town's most infamous vampire hunter, Captain Adalhard. While most of his/her family's history had been forgotten over the centuries, Gabe's grandmother, Sarah, took it upon herself to research their history, learning the truth, and pass her knowledge to Gabe.

Relationships
Your Character
You meet Gabe during the first day of school. After you find out that Cas is a vampire, Gabe tells you more about them, shares his/her own story, and helps you protect yourself against them. The two of you spend a lot of time together, and during the arcade date, Libby reveals that Gabe is descended from vampire hunters. This prompts Gabe to tell you more about his/her origins and her family. You also go together to the Autumn Festival.
When vampires attack you in the gym, Gabe is exposed as a vampire him/herself, and turns feral at the smell of your blood because he/she hasn't drank blood in a month. The attackers intend for Gabe to kill you, but Cas shows up and stops him/her. After the situation is settled, Gabe apologizes for hiding his/her true nature and for spying on you for Lewyn. You can then have Gabe escort you back home, and share your first kiss. He/She introduces you to his/her vampire friends the following day.
Gabe and Cas also help you stop your mother from finding out the truth by breaking into her office and editing the autopsy report. Afterwards, the three of you start talking about the vampire-turning process, and Gabe shares his/her traumatic experience and how he/she was forced to turn someone. Due to your interest, Gabe and Cas offer to take you to the turning chamber and tell you more. While being grounded, Gabe visits you, and you can do chores with him/her.
Upon discovering the bodies of the Venandis in the woods, you, Gabe, and Cas vow to work together and save the town. While being outside of the lay lines, you have several chances to get closer to Gabe, and once you return to Crimson Beech and the battle with the Creator and his minions begins, you can express your feelings to him/her. You then sacrifice yourself to kill the Creator, and because Gabe and Cas don't want to lose you, they decide to turn you. If you told Gabe that you love him/her before your death, he/she tells you she feels the same way.
Cas Harlow
Gabe and Cas have a strong dislike for each other. This most likely stems from their polar opposite personalities, as well as from the fact that they belong in different clans. Cas believes that Gabe's attitude is annoying and pretentious, given that Gabe has a secret he/she hasn't told you yet. Once Gabe's secret comes to light, Cas stops Gabe from attacking you in his/her feral state. Gabe eventually thanks Cas for intervening during the fight in the gym, and after they calm down, they realize that they both care for you.
The two eventually team up and help you sabotage your mother's autopsy report, and when the Venandis are found dead, they decide to put aside their differences and work together to save Crimson Beech. Despite some intense arguments that occur between them during the trip outside of the lay lines, Gabe and Cas stay focused on their goal, and even seem to get closer. The two also come together when you sacrifice yourself to kill the Creator, and decide to turn you because they cannot bear the thought of losing you.
In the end, you can joke about how the two work well together, or that they have finally become friends.
Lewyn Junius
You see Gabe talking to Lewyn near the end of Chapter 4 outside your house. In Chapter 6, he/she reveals that Lewyn sent him/her to spy on you since the incident in the woods. However, Gabe says that the only thing he/she told Lewyn was that you were keeping the end of your deal, and that his/her feelings for you are real.
When Gabe's grandmother sought out the vampires to learn more about them and Astoria captured and tortured her as punishment for the Adalhard ancestors' crimes against the covens, Gabe offered himself/herself in Sarah's place. Lewyn convinced Astoria not to kill Gabe, but instead turn the younger man/woman into a vampire. Gabe doesn't believe Lewyn did it to save him/her but to exact punishment as a fate worse than death. Afterwards, Gabe joined Lewyn's coven.
After the Creator is defeated, Gabe and Cas threaten Lewyn and Astoria to leave you and your mother alone, otherwise they'll tell everyone that Lewyn intended to sacrifice the humans and the members of his own coven to save his own skin.
Ancestors
According to Gabe, his/her forebears were cruel. He/She doesn't know much about his/her family history, aside from the fact that Captain Adalhard, his/her great-great-grandfather, was a chief vampire hunter. He was involved in thinning out the vampire population in Crimson Beech back when they were running rampant, and he was really good because he reduced the vampire population to a controllable number, giving the humans a fighting chance. However, once this was done, he hunted the remaining vampires for sport, tortured them, and then kept their heads. Due to his/her tragic past, Gabe sometimes wishes that he/she could have gone vampire hunting because the vampires took everything from him/her. Gabe also says that he/she hates vampires, and that sometimes he/she doesn't feel bad about what his/her ancestors did to them.
Sarah Adalhard
Sarah was Gabe's grandmother. She had been doing research into the family's history for a genealogy project, when she discovered vampires and about their existence in Crimson Beech. She told Gabe the truth and gave him/her the Sensory Talisman, a family relic she found in her research in order to keep him/her safe. Sarah also found out that the Adalhard hunters developed a whole stash of silver-based talismans that they used to torture the vampires they caught. However, when she figured out their location and tried to collect them all, she found the stash empty.
When she sought out vampires to learn more about them, she encountered Astoria Yao who had previously been tortured by Captain Adalhard centuries ago. Astoria was not the type to forgive and forget, and instead captured and tortured Sarah as punishment for the Adalhard ancestors' crimes against the covens. Before Astoria was about to kill her, Gabe offered himself/herself in Sarah's place. Lewyn convinced Astoria not to kill Gabe, but instead turn the younger man/woman into a vampire. With Gabe taking Sarah's place, it is unknown if Sarah later died due to injuries sustained from the torture or from other vampire-related events.
Terri
Gabe meets your mother for the first time in Chapter 5, and Terri seems to like and approve of him/her. When you return home after the incident at the gym, your mother is angry at you and Gabe for keeping you out longer, especially after the promise he/she made. If you, Gabe and Cas help Terri with tidying up your house in Book 1, Chapter 13, Terri apologizes and reconciles with Gabe.
Libby
Libby is Gabe's friend and classmate. They work at the arcade together. She tells you that Gabe is descended from vampire hunters, according to town legend.
Powers and Abilities
- Enhanced Strength: Vampires are stronger than most humans.
- Enhanced Speed: Vampires can travel faster than humans.
- Ley Lines: Ley lines are underground sources of energy that vampires can utilize. They give vampires the ability to be resilient to sunlight.
Weaknesses
- Aversion to Silver: Silver can burn vampires. Several vampire-hunting talismans use silver as a ward against vampires, and specifically prepared silver can paralyze them.
- Decapitation: Dismembering or manually removing the head of a vampire will result in instant and permanent death.
- Sunlight: Originally, vampires found sunlight to be debilitating and were greatly weakened under its gaze. This changed when vampires found ley lines of power that nullified this weakness.
- Ley Lines: While the ley lines nullify the weaknesses vampires have to the sun, this is dependent upon contact with the ley line and if the vampire leaves Crimson Beech, they will swiftly lose this power.
- Vampire Blood: Vampire blood is poisonous to other vampires. Even a drop or two is enough to make a vampire ill.
- Bloodlust: When vampires do not regularly feed, they are in danger of turning "feral", unable to reason with or talk to until the thirst for blood is quenched.
