Trivia
- This is the third series to feature a male version of a customizable protagonist on the book cover, the first two being the High School Story series and The Heist: Monaco.
- This is the first series to feature non-binary pronouns (along with existing male and female) for the main protagonist.
- Additionally, this is also the first series to use the term "body type" instead of using explicit "male" and "female" body types, allowing your character to be transgender.
- Tatum references the film Bodyguard in Chapter 3.
- The Ardona-Rutherland animosity appears to parallel certain historical aspects of England, the United States of America, and the American Revolutionary War.
- In Ardona, it is called the "Rutherland Dissent".
- In Rutherland, it is called the "Rutherland Revolution". The Rutherlandian colonies rebelled against unfair and unjust Ardonian rule, when the Ardonian prime minister overtaxed the Rutherlandians without giving them any say in the matter.
- The Ardona-Rutherland animosity also has similarities to England's relations with Wales in the 12th century.
- In Chapter 6, the fantastical story appears to be based on The Elementalists while the spooky story appears to be based on It Lives In The Woods. The Drivosan fairytale "Harper and Gryphon" is loosely based on the German fairytale "Hansel and Gretel", while the tale "Young Bluecoat" is based on "Little Red Riding Hood".
- In Chapter 9, Your Character's mom mentions the Rutherlandian presidential plane "Eagle Flight One", which is a reference to Air Force One.
- The capital of Rutherland, where State Manor lies, does not have winters that are cold enough to leave ice on the windows.
- In Chapter 12, the event where Your Character gets red paint dumped on him/her/them by the masked assailants is a reference to the horror movie Carrie.
- The end of Chapter 15 says that the next chapter will be the finale.
