Relationships

Marshal Keane

When you and Marshal Keane run into Finn at breakfast, Marshal Keane tells you that they have known each other since they were teenagers. Finn dated Keane's late brother, Donovan. Finn works for the Irish mob in Boston and that's where Finn met Donovan. According to Marshal Keane, Finn works in a different branch than the O'Connells so he probably doesn't know about you.

In Chapter 18, you both discover that he and other mobsters have been threatening the local farmers. They threatened to burn Betha's farm to pressure her for protection money. She tells you that many of her neighbors have already moved because of them, but she refuses to be bullied. You can choose to either push his and his fellow mobster's motorcycles into the bog, to get Betha's animals riled up as a distraction, or to stay out of it by hiding in the basement. If you choose to hide, Betha takes care of them but a few dishes get broken and litter the kitchen floor when you return.

In Chapter 22, he confesses to the murder of Donovan. According to him, Donovan was a traitor to the mob because he put Marshal Keane and the rest of his family above his duty to the mob. That was the reason he had to die. The revelation paralyzes Marshal Keane who becomes unable to fend him off. You're able to smash his head with a fishing pole and escape with Keane.

In Chapter 25, when he finds your boat in the storm, he tells Keane that killing Donovan was the best decision he ever made because it helped the O'Connells trust him.

Your Character

In Chapter 21, he threatens you by holding a knife to your throat. Because Keane is stunned that Finn killed his/her brother, you fight Finn yourself and head butt him. If you didn't take the premium scene to improve your fighting skills, the blade of the knife will nick you in a thin line across your neck, which hurts but is not more harmful than being cut by paper. After smashing his head with a fishing pole, you and Marshal Keane escape.

Aisling O'Connell

Through Aisling, the O'Connells hired Finn to kill you and offered him the chance to deal with Marshal Keane personally. Aisling relayed the messages from her parents to him.
