Drake, a character in The Royal Romance and The Royal Heir series, is King "Liam" Rys's best friend and one of your character's potential love interests. He is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 1.
Appearance
Drake has wavy brown hair, light skin and brown eyes. He usually wears a blue denim shirt over a white T-shirt and black jeans. He has a small rough patch on his shoulder after being shot.
He speaks with a Cordonian accent rather than a Texas drawl or American accent.
Personality
Drake is the down-to-earth, realistic "commoner" in his circle of friends. Although he is snarky, sarcastic and generally closed-off, he is perceptive, observant, very loyal to his friends, and caring once he opens up. Generally, he holds a cynical view of society, specifically the court of Cordonia and the "back-stabbing" politics that goes with it. His friendship with the Prince (and later King) of Cordonia appears mismatched as he did not have the lineage to be introduced into the Prince's circle of friends. However, he is not ashamed of his background and prides himself in being self-sufficient. If romanced, he is also self-deprecating, insecure, and vulnerable to you.
StoryLoom Description
"Prince Liam's rugged best friend, Drake Walker is an outlier in the Cordonian court. He holds a deep disdain for palace politics, which often puts him at odds with the very world he must inhabit. Beneath his tough exterior resides depth, loyalty, and a protective nature, especially toward those he holds dear."[2]
Background
Drake's father worked in the King's Guard protecting Constantine Rys and the Royal Family when Drake was growing up. While his mother Bianca Walker is American, his father Jackson Walker was Cordonian. It is unknown where the Walker family was before Jackson joined and climbed the ranks of the King's Guard, but Drake's parents had gotten married at Walker Ranch in Texas, USA and the family spent time in both Cordonia and Texas during their Cordonian residency.
Jackson taught Drake to fish, and he shares with your character that Jackson was a strict man; when they went fishing, if they caught nothing, they would not eat. When Drake did catch something, it made him feel like a "man", proud and capable. When the Royal Family visited Walker Ranch before Eleanor had been assassinated, Jackson asked Drake to help them relax and to make sure they had a good time. Drake felt pride for being trusted with such a task even though Liam's parents had been arguing in the beginning.
When Drake first met Liam, they were not instant best friends because Drake was sullen and closed. Liam won his trust and friendship when a guard caught Drake playing with a taser and Liam took the blame, lying that he had given it to Drake as a gift. From then, they got to know each other and became best friends over time.
Drake and Liam got into plenty of trouble together. One time, they caused the Great Lockdown, where the Palace Guard prevented people from coming and going while they searched for Drake because he had fallen asleep in an old laundry chute during a game of hide-and-seek and caused Liam to panic. Another time, they played soccer -where Drake's favorite position is defense- in the ballroom which damaged a portion of the chandelier, crown molding, and floors. They also used to have snowball fights together with Leo when they were younger. Drake was undefeated until the last snowball fight where Liam was hit in the face and got a black eye. Both Constantine and Jackson were furious, and snowball fights were banned at the palace from then on. When they were older, Liam taught Drake how to play polo, and Drake taught Liam how to drive. When Drake got a summer job in the royal stables, Liam would follow him around between his own lessons and learned a few things.
After childhood, Drake decided to go to college and build a life away from court. He and Liam started to drift apart because of their separate lives, but an assassination attempt on the Royal Family brought Drake back. The attack had shaken Liam and he became withdrawn and stopped eating; when Drake returned, Liam told him not to worry but Drake could tell that the other man was relieved to see him.

Relationships
Prince Liam
"Liam" and Drake have been best friends since childhood. Drake values his friendship with Liam through his loyalty. During The Royal Romance, Book 1, Liam asks Drake to keep an eye out for you, but doesn't see any attraction forming between you and Drake if you choose to romance Drake. Drake worries that once Liam marries, he'll be pushed to the side and forgotten. If you decide to choose Drake over Liam in The Royal Romance, Book 2, Chapter 16, Liam is heartbroken but happy for Drake. He still thinks Drake is a good man and that he deserves love.
In The Royal Romance, Book 3, if you picked Drake as your love interest, he asks Liam to be his best man. Although Liam still has feelings for you, he accepts because he still loves Drake like a brother. If you ask Drake about him, Drake will tell you that Liam has closed himself off and doesn't tell Drake about his feelings any longer. He knows that Liam is hurting but still happy for him, and that his upbringing has trained him to remain stoic and not reveal his pain.
By The Royal Heir, Book 1, Liam no longer shows his pain and if Drake is your husband, he asks you both if you will consent to allowing your child to become his heir. Drake and you accept.
Your Character
Drake is one of your character's love interests. In the beginning of The Royal Romance, Book 1, he seems to dislike you. He keeps his distance but at the same time, looks out for you as a favor for the Prince. You eventually grow on him and he starts trusting and liking you more. In Chapter 14, he reveals that he has feelings for you but keeps you at arm's length because he knows that you are there for the Prince like everyone else. In Chapter 15, if you spend time with him and tell him you care about him and the Prince, he tells you that he isn't the possessive type; however, you are unable to romance multiple love interests after you choose your fiancé/e, except in Book 2, Chapters 18 and 19 and Book 3, Chapter 16.
In Book 2, he repeatedly pushes away his feelings for you. He doesn't want to take you away from the scandal and the situation because it would hurt Liam. He wants to clear your name and reputation and then when all of that is settled, he wants you to be able to choose. Throughout the book, if you're persistent enough, he finds it difficult to resist you. He doesn't understand why you would want to be with him when Liam can offer you more, but if you choose to reciprocate his feelings, you explain that he challenges you and under his rough exterior, he's a big marshmallow and you love him. In Chapter 17, he explains why he calls you by your surname instead of your first name. He says he didn't want to grow close to you and didn't want you to find out about his feelings. Even if you two become engaged, he still calls you by your last name. In Chapter 19, he saves you from an assassin's bullet. You take him to one of the Royal Family's safehouses and bandage him up.
In Book 3, if you chose him (and rejected Liam's proposal), he proposes to you in Chapter 1 with his grandmother's ring. Given your new status as a Duchess, upon your union, he will ascend to the status of Duke. In Chapter 2, if you decide to take engagement photos with Drake, you two take them in the orchard garden. In Chapter 12, he mentions that he was surprised when you picked him over Liam, which is something no one else did before. In Chapter 16, he explains again his previous attitude towards you. He didn't want to watch Cordonian royal politics ruin another hopeful girl's life. In Chapter 19, you get to choose what you want him to call you: your first name, your last name, or Walker (your new married last name). In Chapter 22, he tells you again that he tried not to fall for you, even tried to hate you but was unsuccessful.
In The Royal Heir, if he is your husband, you both agree to allow Liam to name your child as future heir to Cordonia. If he is not your husband, Drake still remains your close friend in your circle. You all travel together to Texas for his sister Savannah's wedding and Drake tells you more about his childhood with Liam and his relationship with his late father, Jackson.
In The Royal Finale, if he is your husband and you decide to go on a date in the last chapter, he tells you that he realized he started falling for you during your stay in Lythikos (Book 1, Chapter 6) and you two reminisce about the time you raced against him down the ski slopes.
Maxwell
Maxwell is one of Drake's friends, who the latter calls his "most persistent" friend. Although Drake is seen dismissing Maxwell's friendship in the beginning, Maxwell grows on him and Drake cares about him and is willing to help him out in times of need. In Book 2, Maxwell and Drake share a train cabin together from Cordonia to Italy to France, to Drake's annoyance. Maxwell calls them 'best friend roomies', making Drake consider throwing himself off the train. Drake becomes angry at Maxwell when he discovers Maxwell knew where Savannah was and didn't tell him, but eventually forgives him. He thanks Maxwell for being there for Savannah when he couldn't be. Through Savannah and Bertrand, both Maxwell and Drake share a nephew - Bartie. In Book 3, if you choose to marry Maxwell, Maxwell will ask Drake to be his Best Man, which the latter accepts.
In The Royal Heir, Book 1, if you ask, Drake will tell you that they formed the Quartet in their youth when there was a royal singing competition. Maxwell had bet him two hundred push-ups that they could win it.
Savannah
Savannah is Drake's younger sister. He cares for her, and still feels guilty that he couldn't help her. In a premium scene, Savannah is shown to be the one who kept Drake in line, and is shown to have encouraged him to have fun. If you picked Drake as your love interest, she mentions when she returns to Cordonia that her brother speaks a lot about you and suspects you two are a thing. If you choose to get engagement photos, Savannah is the one who chose your dress. During your wedding reception, she toasts you and Drake, saying that you make him smile more than she has ever seen.
Bartie
Bartie is Drake's nephew who is very dear to him.
Bastien
Bastien was a junior agent under Drake's father when Drake was young. Since he had no family of his own around, Bastien was always invited to join the Walker family for dinner. Drake's father and Bastien became close and Bastien sometimes used to babysit Drake and his sister. When Drake's father died, Bastien drove Drake and Savannah to the funeral. He also took it upon himself to look out after them, and always made time for them, telling them stories about their father. He isn't a "father figure" though; he's more like the uncle that let them stay up late and eat cookies before bed. Bastien was one of the people Drake trusted all the time until you get a clue in Book 2 that Bastien may be the one who set you up. In a premium scene of Chapter 9, Drake tells you that he is starting to feel like he can no longer trust anyone.
In Book 3, Drake forgives Bastien. At the Guardians of the Realm ceremony, Bastien tells Drake that Jackson also received the same honor, and that he would be proud of his son.
However, in The Royal Finale, he is both angered and devastated upon hearing Bastien's confessions of causing his dad's death.
Hana Lee
Through you and Maxwell, Drake is introduced to Hana during the social season and suitor competition for then-Prince "Liam". In The Royal Romance, Book 1, Chapter 16, if you decide to play Truth or Dare with them, Hana calls Drake one of her best friends and he is reluctant to admit that he has become friends with the group. When Hana has to leave Cordonia at her parents' request, he finally admits that he is sad to see her goes, he will miss her and states that she is nothing like the other nobles.
In The Royal Heir, Book 2, Chapter 17, if you read Amalas's dossiers, you discover that Drake has been learning to bake and sew. Hana says that she has been teaching him and he has gotten really good at fixing seams.
Kiara Theron
Kiara is a noble who Drake knows through the Cordonian court. Although they do not appear to interact much in The Royal Romance, Book 1, you spot them talking in various instances in Book 2. If you decide to tease Drake, you can point out Kiara's attraction to him of which he does not reciprocate. He tells Kiara not to lift heavy objects on her own during the barn raising, and later asks her about her tutoring Savannah in French. In Chapter 17, if you choose to, you and Drake can prank Kiara via her room at the palace. If you decide to leave her nice notes, he will want to write her, drunk as he is, that her hair is pretty and her 'French is totally not stupid'.
If you choose Drake as your fiance and later husband, Kiara appears wistful during your engagement announcement but does not say anything negative. If you choose another fiance and spouse, during your stag and doe bachelor bachelorette party at Las Vegas, you can choose to have a final fling with Drake. If you do, you point out that he could have hooked up with Kiara instead of wallowing at a bar. He again states that he is not interested in her.
In The Royal Heir, Book 1, if Drake is not your spouse, you can ask Kiara about him during Savannah's bachelorette party. If you do, she will admit she is attracted to Drake's physique, noting that it would be nice to have someone to lift heavy objects. She states that Drake has never appeared interested in her so she does not pursue it.

- In Book 3, Chapter 16, Your Character has an opportunity to get closure with him if he's not your fiancé and if you had previously pursued/flirted with him before getting engaged. If you had not romanced him, he will not show up as an option for closure.
- You are even presented an opportunity to have one last fling at your Bachelorette Party with him in Las Vegas before getting married to your fiancé.
- If Your Character is engaged to him, they can elope in a premium scene of Book 3, Chapter 17, before the official wedding.
- However, players who did not choose to elope experienced dialogue in later chapters where both the Main Character and Drake talked about their elopement.[3]
- He mentions if Cordonia wasn't a mess he would have liked to get married on the ranch where his parents got married.

- In Book 3, Chapter 18, he mentions that his mother is coming to the wedding. As something borrowed, he offers you a pocket watch that belonged to his father, which he received from Constantine when he first saved his life.
