• On January 16, 2019, PB confirmed that they don't have a release date at this time.
• On January 23, 2019, Pixelberry released a poll through their official Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts to vote on the cover of Book 2.
• Limetown Studios designed the book covers of the High School Story series.
• On January 25, 2019, it was revealed that after polls closed on PB's Facebook account, that Skye won the players' vote with 61% and on Twitter with 70%.
• On January 31, 2019, the official book cover was revealed along with the official release date being Monday on February 11, 2019.
• On February 1, 2019, the first sneak peek was released, which hints at some campaigning being involved.
  • On the same day, the description for Chapter One was revealed.
• On February 5, 2019, the second sneak peek was released.
• On February 8, 2019, PB released a third sneak peek for Chapter 1 along with a blogpost for the new book, where they gave away various tidbits of new information.
  • Brianna, one of the writers for this book, teased that what's next for readers in Book 2 is election season hitting Berry High!
    • She teased that this book is really about taking those bonds to the next level, and putting them to the test when tensions run high. You choose your destiny, so you'll really have to follow your heart and discover what you believe in!
  • The writers also have many fun dates planned, which includes trips to the Arcade, robot battles and even hanging out inside an igloo!
  • Players will also be meeting a few new faces! Some will be friends, and others will be foes.
  • Some beloved characters from the original High School Story trilogy will also be playing a role in this year's presidential race, so stay tuned!
  • Rachel Z for her part said that the focus this time is on deepening the friendships and relationships you established in book one. But you might run into conflict with a couple people you didn't expect!
• On February 11, 2019, it was revealed that a glitch involving Your Character from High School Story was being experienced by players during Chapter 1. PB revealed they were aware of it and were trying to get fixed ASAP.
• On March 1, 2019, PB released a sneak peek for Chapter 4.
• On May 17, 2019, PB released a sneak peek for Chapter 15, and also revealed that it will be the final chapter in this book.
• On July 19, 2019, Laura Shigihara who sang the theme song First Day for all the High School Story books and the High School Story app, sang it live.

Trivia

• A second book was confirmed for the soft reboot series at the end of Book 1, Chapter 15.
  • In the flash-forward scene featured upon completing Book 1, it is confirmed that MC and his/her love interest (i.e. Rory Silva, Skye Crandall or Ajay Bhandari) are dating.
  • One of the major plot points for the second book seems to be elections for class president.
• Chapter 4 shares the same title as Rules of Engagement, Book 3, Chapter 2, "Piece of Cake".
• The title of Chapter 5 is a reference to The Three Musketeers.
  • In the same chapter, if you say that flash mobs are fun, Rory will mention that the Les Mis (short for Les Misérables) one in the mall is his/her favorite.
• In Chapter 13, Your Character can make a reference to the movie Robocop when talking to Graham: if you choose to tell him to name the plant he is holding, s/he suggests the name RoboCrop.
• In Chapter 14, Skye makes a reference to the Canadian TV show Property Brothers.
