Relationships
Your Character
Drew is your father whose bar, The Stockyard, is failing. He tells you that the landlord still wants to raise their rent. Although Valentine's Day did give them a good boost, they have to keep that kind of traffic coming to be able to afford the rent. In Chapter 5, you have the premium option to help liven up and fill up the bar with customers to dissuade the landlord from selling.
Your dad notices the tension and/or looks between you and Rival Matchmaker, and teases you about it. He also doesn't want you to feel that it's your responsibility to help save the bar even if you want to.
Veronica
When you cannot find another match or date for Veronica, Drew volunteers as a "mockingdate". Even though it feels weird, you ask him to make it a mediocre date so that way he can be "off the hook" for future dates later on. However, as they begin talking, the date goes surprisingly well and both have a good time getting to know one another. Drew tells you that they both have a fond memory for gumball machines, cassette tapes, and drive-in movies. She also laughs at his corny jokes.
For their first casual date, Drew takes Veronica bowling and you and Rival tag along to try to help. He tries to give her advice on bowling, but she gets angry and refuses the help. She doesn't like to feel incapable, but you reason with her and she gives the date another try. For their first formal date, Veronica invites Drew to a charity gala. When one of the attendees insults him, Drew gets angry that Veronica didn't defend him. He however tries again, and when they sit to at the same table for the dinner, he holds his own against Veronica's soon-to-be ex-husband, Richard, in conversation. However, when Richard grabs Veronica's arm forcefully, Drew punches him and then excuses himself, embarrassed by his own display. He tries to write her a letter of apology as he feels a text is too informal, and you have the premium opportunity to help him with it.
