Brightness, a character in The Cursed Heart series, is Radiance's great-great uncle and a Sun Court elder. He is first seen in Book 1, Chapter 11.
Appearance
Blaze has long white straight hair, a small stubble, blue eyes and pale skin. He wears a golden headpiece, a blue and golden robe with flower patterns, and golden straps on his arms with a golden necklace.
Personality
Brightness can be described as very cruel, and very power-hungry. While originally appearing nicer than his brother Blaze, it turns out that he is just as wicked. The only thing he cares about is rising to power and taking down the Moon Court, and he has no problem in taking lives and taking people out of the way to achieve that, even if those lives are his own family such as Longclaw's.
Background
Brightness is currently an elder and an advisor of the Sun Court. According to some of the nobles living in the Sun Court Palace, he and Blaze are the oldest and wisest Fae of the Sun Court. As it is revealed in Chapter 13, he, Blaze, and the rest of the Sun Court are responsible for every accident and misfortune that has befallen on the members of the Moon Court.

Relationships
Radiance
When Radiance was born to the Sun Court, his/her great-great uncles Lords Blaze and Brightness immediately saw his/her potential. The lords took Radiance into their care at a young age, teaching him/her all the skills they believed would be vital in an heir. Under their tutelage, Radiance grew twisted, like a strangling vine. His/her innate cruelty was nurtured, praised, and refined. All signs of kindness and mercy were extinguished, leaving only a calculating, cold-blooded heart. `Radiance became their masterfully crafted sword: Honed, deceptively sharp, and poised to strike the killing blow.
Longclaw
Radiance's older sister, Gleam, was firstborn, which made her the heir to the throne. Try as they might, Blaze and Brightness were never able to turn her against the Moon Court. They considered her soft, too weak, too sentimental to lead, but they could not strike against their own openly. So, they tasked Radiance with his/her first mission, to find a way to curse his/her sister and make it look like an accident.
Your Character
You meet Brightness for the first time when Radiance takes you to the throne room so that you can convince him and Blaze to give you access the palace library. At first he is hesitant, but after you make a compelling case as to why you need to go, he allows you to do so. When you leave the throne room, you mention to Radiance that he didn't seem to like you very much. After Radiance's true nature is exposed in Chapter 13, he/she drags you in front of Brightness and Blaze, who follow suit as well and expose the wicked plans they have for Kieran and the Moon Court.
Lustre
Lustre is Brightness's niece. After his true nature is revealed in Chapter 13, he seems to considers her an embarrassment for ruining the curse that was meant to take down Kieran.
