The following serves as general guidelines on how to format Book pages correctly. We all want to be the best editors we can be and we all want this wiki to grow; so when you are editing, please make sure you're formatting pages correctly. These aren't necessarily rules that you must follow to the letter; they are more along the lines of guidelines to make sure things run smoothly and look uniform.
Below are some tips to help you when editing.
Creating A Book Page
When creating a brand new page for a book, there are 7 things that need to be considered. They are:
- the infobox
- the introduction to the left of the infobox
- the summary
- chapters
- gallery
- trivia
- references
Tip: When creating a new Book page, it is always wise to have another browser tab/window open with an established Book page. That way you can toggle between the two to compare and determine what you need and what is missing from the page you are creating.
Infobox
For book infoboxes, we use the "Book" template.
The infobox is fairly easy to use. The only fields you will need to edit are the values and the information next to the labels on the infobox. It is recommended for not-so-experienced users to edit in VisualEditor if you are not familiar or comfortable with wiki coding.
Tips
- 1. When editing infoboxes, it is best to leave an area blank if you are not sure about the information you have. For example, if an editor thinks that "The Royal Romance, Book 3" debuted on January 14, 2018 but wasn't sure, the user could ask an admin or find evidence to support the fact.
- 2. Remember to keep in mind that the first chapter of every book is free. When you update the key cost, please take that into account.
Introductory Paragraphs
Introductory paragraphs are the paragraphs you see at the top left of the infobox. They follow a very simple format and again, it is advised that not-so-experienced users use VisualEditor. Below is the structure of an introductory paragraph:
Book name and number (in bold), is the (#) book of (series name) series. It succeeds its first two books, (book name) and (book name).
An example of this is:

The Royal Romance, Book 3 is the third book of The Royal Romance series. It succeeds its first two books, The Royal Romance, Book 1 and The Royal Romance, Book 2. |
For standalone books, the structure is:
Name (in bold) is the first and thus far only book of the (series name) series.
An example of this is:

Veil of Secrets is the first and thus far only book of the Veil of Secrets series. |
Tip:
- Remember to link the series name to its corresponding category.
Summary
The summary of the book tells the reader what the book is going to be about and is used to draw them to the book. In most cases, Pixelberry will release a summary either on the various app stores or Twitter or the Choices App itself. The summary should be copied word for word and be written in italics.
Tip:
- If Pixelberry does not release a summary, the synopsis for the first chapter is normally used.
Chapters
The chapters listing of the book is similar to a Tables of Content for the book. It contains the each chapter title and its synopsis. Chapter names and numbers should be in bold, while the synopsis of the chapter should be in block-quote format. An example of the coding is shown below:

Gallery
Galleries are the fun part. They can brighten up the mood of an article and can make a page popular. When creating galleries, there are a few things to note:
With books, galleries should be split up into three sections:
- Sneak Peeks
- This is reserved for sneak peeks released by Pixelberry on various social media platforms.
- Pre-Book Sneak Peeks & Information
- This section should contain anything that Pixelberry has released regarding the book and prior to the book's arrival, whether it be sneak peeks of the characters or parts of the story. They should also contain information released by Pixelberry about the book.
- Miscellaneous.
- This section is for any pictures taken in-game.

Tip:
- When editing these, take out the spaces between the < and "gallery" and > . This was just to show the coding.
Trivia
The trivia section is for fun facts or things revealed in-game or by Pixelberry relating to the book. If the trivia section becomes lengthy, it can be subdivided into a "Spoilers" section and a "Trivia" section. In this event, the Spoilers section precedes the Trivia section as seen in The Royal Romance, Book 1 for example.
Tips:
- 1. Remember that some things important to the plot maybe be applicable.
- 2. Remember that if for example, a Pixelberry employee confirms something about a book and there is a link or photo available, put it in the gallery or add it as a reference (and it will add credibility to the claim).
References
References are the very last section on any page. It provides the evidence (links) for trivia points and are also used for quotes.
Other Rules
As always, practice netiquette.
- Avoid CAPS as that equals SHOUTING.
- Avoid excessive spacing for "dramatic effect".
- If you encounter a NSFW (not safe for work) official Choices image, such as Frank, please do not hesitate to use the {{NSFW}} template on the top of the page.
- If you are editing a popular page and want to avoid edit conflicts (that can happen when two or more users try to edit the same page at the same time), feel free to use the {{UnderCon}} template at the top of the page. This will show others that the page is currently being worked on and ask them to refrain from editing until you are finished.
