Bonus Scene
This bonus scene occurs at the end of the sixteenth chapter, if you collected all 6 portrait fragments throughout the book. It is a teaser for the next book.
In his library, once he is sure that no one is watching, Scholar Jameson speaks to Gaius Augustine, whom he addresses as "master". During this conversation, several details are revealed; that the Feral attacks that have been occurring lately were on Gaius/Jameson's behalf with the intention of creating divide within The Council, that Jameson was the one who attacked Lily Spencer (whom he was expecting to have been revived by Adrian), and that while Vega played his part in trying to take out Adrian that the counterattack by the Clanless forces was not expected. Furthermore, the conversation about "the girl" (Your Character) reveals that her psychic powers are growing through the portrait fragments Jameson left. A disappointed Gaius tells Jameson he desires to feed; Jameson has made arrangements and has prepared a human for this purpose. She attempts to run, but Gaius, now appearing completely different with faded and discolored skin, leaps after and attacks the woman.
